Dancing Under the Stars
Where else can you go for free dance lessons in a beautiful outside locale? All throughout the summer, you can dance amongst the stars every Friday evening on the waterfront. Each week, there is a different dance being taught like the Cha Cha, West Coast Swing, Salsa and more. It doesn’t matter how experienced you are as a dancer; all that matters is how much fun you have. Bring a friend or a date or meet someone dancing the night away!
Jack’s Night Market
Every third Friday during the summer, Jack London Square hosts a market filled with artists, music, food and more. Enjoy the eclectic vibe that Oakland offers with local crafts, designers, and street performers in this open-air market. Jack’s Night Market is a mix between First Friday and Jack of All Trades except at night and overlooking the waterfront with all the beauty it has to offer. This would be a fun outing amongst friends enjoying the weather, music, art and atmosphere. This market is one not to miss!
What could be more of a Bay Area experience than watching a movie outside? Cuddle up in the cool weather for some free summer outdoor movie nights on the last Thursday of every month. Enjoy family-friendly movies overlooking an astonishing sunset at the waterfront in Jack London Square. Enjoy the company of others before the movie while playing trivia, eating some great food and indulging in giveaways. Revel in the breathtaking views and fun flicks with friends, family, strangers or a combination of both.
Jack of All Trades
Every second Saturday of each month an eclectic mixture of local crafters, indie designers, antique dealers, artists and more all gather together for Jack of All Trades. This unique flea market featuring tons of great finds is the sister market of Treasure Island Flea and has a backdrop of the beautiful scenery at Jack London Square. This market is filled with Oakland flavor accompanied by free DIY workshops along with art and music, making it a great cultural experience.
Sing Along Cinema
Have you ever been to an outdoor, sing-along movie? Well, Jack London Square features Sing Along Cinema, and with classics like Hairspray and Mamma Mia, what’s not to love! Engage in pre-show games and prizes, costume contests and live performances during the film. An interactive sing-along, cinematic feature on the ferry lawn at Jack London Square is an amazing experience that is held every first Friday of each month. This is one escapade not to miss!
