When you’re an adult, you realise that Disney is more than getting to hug Mickey Mouse and eating unlimited popcorn. I mean, it’s still those things (sounds like a great day out, tbh), but you can get more out of the experience: seeing the happy faces of your family, appreciating the effort that’s gone into making the park beautiful, and booze. Lots and lots of booze.

In that spirit, we are extremely pleased to announce that Disneyland is opening its first-ever brewery later this year. Ballast Point Brewery will open a 7,300-square-foot location in late 2016. It will contain a brewery, outdoor beer garden and restaurant for Disney visitors aged over 21.

The happiest place on Earth now has craft beer

It will feature some of the staples of the famous brewery, including The Commodore American Stout and Sculpin IPA, bringing a touch of hipster magic to Disney. There will also be ‘exclusive, custom, limited-edition beers’ on offer, sold only at this location. Hidden Mickey ale, anyone?

The Downtown Disney brewery will serve a menu featuring a ‘taste of San Diego’ if you’re looking for something that doesn’t involve fries and chicken tenders. Many dishes will have Ballast Point beer incorporated into them.

Marty Birkel, president of Ballast Point Brewing, said: ‘As one of Southern California’s premier brewers, for the team at Ballast Point, we couldn’t be more honored to work with such an icon in our great state and become the first brewer at Downtown Disney.
‘We hope SoCal locals and visitors alike will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, seasonal cuisine, and good cheer (and beer) of our signature tap room experience that we plan to bring to Downtown Disney.’
