Country Club at Little Rock

The Country Club at Riverdale, Little Rock was not originally part of the city plan. In 1927 the Arkansas River flooded the area and it ripped the farmland apart. The flood destroyed the levees that held the river in check and left only a narrow strip of sandy land along the base of the south river bluffs. After the disaster, the farms never recovered, and that’s how the Country Club came to be. The place has a significant historical meaning and value for the citizens of Little Rock, and perhaps you will sense it if you stop by for a quick cup of coffee.
