Todos Santos is a destination with white sandy beaches filled with Mexican culture. There is much to see and do in the beautiful town, and some of the best sights are hidden and can only be found when not searching. We have listed some unique places to visit in Todos Santos.
Playa Los Cerritos
Playa Los Cerritos is one of the area’s peaceful beaches. Beach lovers can embrace the Baja California surfer vibes, walk freely on the white shore, watch the sunset, and drink a cool beverage while soaking in the sun. This beach is the ideal place for family gatherings, barbecues, and for hanging out with friends. Playa Los Cerritos offers plenty of water activities and there’s also a restaurant/bar which is operated by prestigious chefs. Baja-styled entrees and drinks are served there. Customers are invited to eat great food, play pool, watch sports games, and drink cold beer at the bar. Surfing lessons are offered at Playa Los Cerritos, and surfing enthusiasts will be able to learn diverse ways to control the board.
In 1994, Michael and Pat Cope opened Galeria de Todos Santos. The gallery exhibits the artworks of Mexican and American artists. The creative pieces lure many visitors in. The landscapes, seascapes, realistic works, and abstract paintings evoke a plethora of emotions. In the sculpture garden there are sculptures made of wood, marble, and resin, and it’s the perfect environment for visitors to sense the mentality of the sculptors. Both contemporary and traditional art pieces can be found in Galeria de Todos Santos. The Cope family invites art enthusiasts to come and enjoy their exhibitions.
Located on the corner of Calle Juarez and Marquez de Leon, The Hub invites all bikers in. Inside a gorgeous brick building, there are numerous bikes and chairs that are perfect for lounging. For bikers and biking enthusiasts, they organize mountain bike tours, and the instructors inform visitors about bike, helmet, and water safety. The Hub also offers a bike rental service, which means visitors can take their bikes and tour Todos Santos.
La Sirena Eco Adventures
For generations, the people of Todos Santos have been fond of fishing. In the area a diversity of fish species can be found: tuna, yellowtail, Dorado, marlin, snapper, grouper, and mackerel. From January to May, the yellowtail and mackerel are the best fish to catch, while the best time to catch a Dorado and marlin is during the summer. La Sirena Eco Adventures ensures the fisheries are sustained through ecotourism. For fishing enthusiasts, the charter company offers 24-feet pangas to cruise through the rich waters.
Jill Logan Galeria
Jill Logan is an American artist who has a strong belief in Todos Santos as an art destination. After majoring in Fine Art at the University of Utah, she began her professional career in 1986 at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach and went on to exhibit her work all over the United States. She moved to Todos Santos in 1998 to open her Fine Art Gallery; Galeria Logan. The gallery is a large and friendly space, with art on display both indoors and in the meandering gardens. There are also frequent displays by other local artists.
In 2010, a group of friends established The Distillery, which is the first artisan distillery in the Baja Sur region. Here visitors can enjoy drinks such as Baja Midnight vodka, chocolate moonshine, and various house blends of tequila. Moreover, Baja Midnight drinks are gluten-free. The moonshine is made from sweet white corn, and sugarcane is used to make vodka. The Distillery also offers traditional and local wines – the house favorite is Jamica. Patrons can sample their drinks while dining at the bar or picnic area, and visitors can also learn about how alcohol is fermented, distilled, and bottled. Additionally, special events are often held at The Distillery, such as movie nights, community benefits, and weddings.
