The idea of climbing up into a treehouse will most likely evoke a bout of nostalgia for your childhood years. Playing in the trees is something most of us have probably done at least once in our early lives; maybe it’s something that you continue to do. There are some amazing treehouse lodges, villas, Airbnbs, and resorts where you can live in a treehouse for the duration of your vacation. For a quick fix, though, why not dine at one of these treehouse restaurants, cafes, and bars, located all around the globe?

If you’re not interested in staying in a treehouse, but would like to spend a little time in one, this may be the place for you. The Tree House Restaurant and Cafe in Monteverde is an exceptional place to dine among the trees. The menu is typical Costa Rican–Latin fusion. The restaurant is built around a huge ficus tree and makes you feel as if you are dining in the forest. Tree House Restaurant and Cafe is also known for its perfectly crafted coffees.

2. Treehouse Restaurant at Anse Chastanet Resort

Restaurant, Fusion, Caribbean, Gluten-free, Vegetarian

While there are multiple dining options at the Anse Chastanet Resort in St. Lucia, one of the highlights is definitely the Treehouse Restaurant. There are two open-air treehouses overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the lush tropical vegetation of the island. The menu features a blend of Caribbean flavors and dishes, with tropical dishes and ideas from around the world. The menu changes every day. All of the produce comes from the resort’s organic farm in the Soufriere Hills.

3. Soneva Kiri Treepods

Boutique Hotel Restaurant, Restaurant, Fusion, Thai, Gluten-free, Vegetarian

The treepod dining experience at the Soneva Kiri Resort on Koh Kood, Thailand’s fourth-largest but least-populated island is unmatched by any other treetop dining option. Patrons are gently hoisted up into the canopy in their own private treepod made of bamboo, and the servers attend to their needs via zip line. From your pod, you will have spectacular views of the sea and the ancient rainforest.

4. The Redwoods Treehouse

Treehouse

The Redwoods Treehouse was built in 2008 as part of a marketing campaign by the Yellow Pages in Warkworth, New Zealand. For a short period of time it was a restaurant that was open to the public. It is now available only for private hire. The cocoon- or onion-shaped tree house can fit 30 seated guests and is a perfect venue for an intimate wedding, party, or other celebration. This peculiar treehouse was built in 66 days, using sustainably grown pine and poplar trees.

5. The Tree Room at Sundance

Restaurant, American, Gluten-free, Vegetarian

The Tree Room at the Sundance Mountain Resort is a highly praised restaurant in Utah. It has been awarded the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Rating, the Utah’s Best of State Award for Fine Dining, the overall Best of State Statue, and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Robert Redford’s personal collection of Native American art adores the walls. This is fine dining among the trees at its best.

6. Treehouse Restaurant at Silky Oaks Lodge

Restaurant with Rooms, Fusion, Australian, Gluten-free

The Treehouse Restaurant at the Silky Oaks Lodge and Healing Waters Spa is probably one of the most beautiful treehouse restaurants in the world. The stunning open-air restaurant and bar sits in the rainforest canopy overlooking the Mossman River in Queensland, Australia. The menu features traditional Australian cuisine with an Asian and European influence. You can try unique dishes here featuring crocodile and kangaroo. If you aren’t staying at the lodge, you have to make a reservation to dine here.
