Naturally, the Bahamas has an abundance of marine wildlife and this allows for it to have a wide range of unique seafood meals. Over the years, recipes have been developed to make the most of the local animals and produce. This has resulted in certain dining experiences that can only be found in the Bahamas.

Tru Bahamian Food Tours

As stated on their website, Tru Bahamian Foor Tours offer “unique, guided small group experiences designed to introduce you to authentic Bahamian food and maximize your fun.” Their services included a food tour and cooking classes. The food tour lasts between three and three-and-a-half hours and includes over six different tastings of traditional Bahamian meals, such as conch fritters, baked macaroni and cheese, rum cake and Bahamian gelato. You will also have the opportunity to meet local chefs and be offered their Bites of Nassau Recipe Collection. In addition to tours, they also offer private cooking classes. Simply provide them with your contact information, the dates you are interested in and the size of your group, and they can teach you how to prepare a variety of different local meals.

Culinary experiences on Nassau Paradise Island

Paradise Island is a small island attached to the capital island of New Providence and contains most of the country’s major tourist attractions. Paradise Island prides itself on its romantic restaurants, ideal for couples visiting the country. These restaurants combine French, Italian and Bahamian cuisine to make a truly unique dining experience.

Paradise Island also has “Tasty Tours”, a tour for two, which involves going through downtown Nassau and experiencing different foods and drinks. Two of the most notable stops are Graycliff Chocolatier, the Bahamas’ first interactive chocolate factory, and John Watling’s Distillery – great for rum lovers.
