Restaurant Méridional

Moroccan lentil and chickpea soup

Fine French fare and delicious Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine are the specialty at Restaurant Méridional – a charming, cozy neighborhood bistro. Signature dishes like shrimp with saffron and white wine sauce and lamb shanks cooked in honey, thyme, port and roasted garlic are served alongside guest favorites like the chicken with melted goat cheese and caramel sauce. But, if there’s one must-try dish at Restaurant Méridional, it’s the magnificent couscous royale – a huge plate of couscous, chicken, veal, kafta and various vegetables including potatoes, yams and carrots. It’s designed to serve at least six people and presented by the chef himself, Kamal Berrahal.

Le Méchant Loup

Bouillabaisse, a traditional French fish soup

Le Méchant Loup is a neighborhood bistro nestled in the heart of historic St-Hubert with a focus on local, fresh and seasonal fare. French and Mediterranean influences feature on the menu with appetizers like mini yellow beet salad with goat cheese, dill, shallot and a maple syrup-yuzu vinaigrette or beef tartare to start. Main courses include risotto with duck leg confit, figs, arugula, caramel balsamic and parmesan and lamb braised in tomato sauce served with potato and garlic confit gnocchi, parsley ricotta and chives – perfectly washed down with a selection from Le Méchant Loup’s impressive wine list.

L’Incrédule

Situated in a beautifully renovated house dating back to 1830 L’Incrédule is a forward-thinking venue with a chic interior and a contemporary twist on traditional French cuisine. Mix tempting appetizers like snails with flaky parmesan pastry and mushroom-pancetta ragout, or homemade black pudding, with hearty mains like veal liver with Madagascar green peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes and confit leeks. L’Incrédule’s dessert menu offers indulgent sweet treats including the eclair with salted caramel foam, roasted almonds and caramel sauce. Sunday brunch features fare like omelets, crêpes and croquet monsieur.

Moghel Tandoori

Indian Masala

Specializing in northern Indian cuisine, Moghel Tandoori is the place to head for fans of fiery and flavorsome authentic fare. You’ll find dishes like spicy mulligatawny soup and fish pakora as well as familiar fare like chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh. Specialties include achar gosht (chicken, beef and lamb cooked with pickled mango, tomato, onions, ginger and garlic) and plenty of vegetarian friendly eats like tarka dahl (pureed lentils with onions and spices) or palak paneer (homemade cheese with spiced spinach). Moghel Tandoori is a BYOB restaurant (Bring Your Own Bottle), so guests may want to pick up a bottle of wine en route.

Péché Matinal

A cozy, creative little cafe-bistro boasting art on the walls and a dramatic skylight, Péché Matinal updates classic breakfast and brunch fare with typically French culinary flair. Omelets are crammed with ingredients like smoked salmon, leeks and feta cheese or sausage, bacon, maple syrup and cheddar cheese while grilled cheese sandwiches get the gourmet treatment with fillings like shredded braised ham, Oka cheese, caramelized onions and cheddar. Péché Matinal’s cassolettes – choose from duck leg confit, smoked sausage or a vegetarian-friendly version – are also very popular, though the more health-conscious diner can also opt for fare like homemade muesli.

Restaurant Trebbiano

Restaurant Trebbiano serves classic Italian appetizers like salmon tartare with onion, capers, avocado and lemon or house-made ricotta gnocchi in a creamy gorgonzola and spinach sauce. Follow this with pizzas, pasta dishes and house specialties like seafood risotto with shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, garlic and white wine or rack of lamb cooked with grappa and Dijon mustard and served with peppercorn cream sauce and vegetables. Restaurant Trebbiano takes its name from the famous Italian grape, so budding oenophiles can be sure to find plenty of fine wines to try.

Madame Thai

Traditional Pad Thai

Madame Thai serves authentic Thai cuisine in a stylish, urban bistro. Dishes like tom yam soup and wontons with minced chicken, Thai basil and plum dipping sauce are served to start. Main courses include familiar favorites like pad Thai and classic green curry with bamboo shoots, long beans, eggplant, Thai basil and a choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or vegetables or signature dishes like the Madame Thai beef (marinated beef wok-fried with Thai herbs, long beans, peppers, crushed peanuts and sesame seeds).
