3. Good Life Deli

Restaurant, Canadian

One of the most extensive breakfast menus in the city belongs to Good Life Deli. This Hamilton neighborhood favorite has a huge range of all-day dishes available, ranging from classic two egg breakfasts to frittatas, benedicts and plenty of sweet options. If you’re looking to grab something quick, there is also a ‘quickie’ section on the menu with simple stalwarts like their ham & swiss croissant or fried egg sandwich.

90s kids and cartoon enthusiasts alike will love the ‘Flintstones’ themed Bedrock Bistro. Truly unique amongst Hamilton’s other brunch offerings, this place features plenty of nods to the iconic show, as well as playing old episodes on loop on their TV screens. Its not all novelty value however, as their all-day breakfast offerings are mighty tasty too.

5. The Cannon Coffee Co.

The Cannon Coffee Co.

One of Hamilton’s most loved coffee shops, the Cannon, also serves a mean selection of brunch items too. Both sweet and savory breakfast fans are well catered for by their simple menu, which features plenty of egg-based dishes as well as great waffles, pancakes and scones. Local vegans will also be pleased to hear that they do a delicious line in non-dairy baking.

6. Jack & Lois

Jack & Lois

Typically specializing in burgers, Jack & Lois also does a great line in all-day breakfast. With far more choice than your standard brunch menu, the dishes here range from customizable breakfast combos to perfectly oozy and tangy grilled cheese. Portions are generous and tend to be pretty heavy on the carbohydrates, so make sure you arrive with a big appetite.

Papa Leo’s focuses its popular dining experience on fresh ingredients, local roasted coffee and a welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. On the breakfast menu you’ll find all your traditional choices, as well as more creative options like the ‘uptown crab cake benny’ and ‘sourdough French toast.’ The inside is tiny and brunch here is popular so be prepared for a short wait if you arrive during peak times.

8. The West Town Bar & Grill

Bar, Canadian, Pub Grub, Wine, Beer, Fast Food

A staple on the brunch scene for over 20 years, the West Town Bar & Grill is most famous as a steakhouse and beer watering hole. Less well-known, however, is their excellent breakfast, served until 11.30am Monday to Friday and until 2pm on weekends. The menu is relatively typical, featuring pancakes, waffles and french toast, but the atmosphere is great, with attentive, friendly service.

9. Maple Leaf Pancake House

Maple Leaf Pancake House

If great pancakes are what you’re after, Maple Leaf Pancake House is easily the best choice in town. The classic, retro-feel haunt has been serving the Hamilton community for years, winning it a spot in many hearts. There are other options available, but the clear stars here are the pancakes, which are consistently warm, fluffy and delicious.

Steve’s Open Kitchen is a classic greasy spoon café with a casual relaxed vibe. The eggs benedict is a huge hit with diners and their hotcakes are rumoured to be the best you’ll find in Hamilton.
