El Jefe

Tucked away in a once drab alleyway on Lakeshore Road East, the arrival of El Jefe has completely transformed its surroundings. Drenched in Mexican-inspired street art, El Jefe is a welcoming and colourful spot to get your fix of Mexican food. With a menu not only inspired by Mexican cuisine but also those of Africa, Portugal and Spain, the offer holds a vibrant mix of flavours to tease your palette. Now that summer has arrived, enjoy your sangria and guac on El Jefe’s patio out front. Dishes on the must-try list include the ‘chicken chimichangas‘ and ‘con-queso street corn’.

Snug Harbour

Nestled on the lakefront, Snug Harbour stands true to its name with a romantic location just overlooking the water that has stood the test time for 20 years now. Whether day or night, the patio is crowded at all times. In the summertime, on Saturday nights at Snug Harbour, you’ll find live music to listen to while enjoying a drink. A visit to this seaside spot would be incomplete without a serving of seafood.

Door FiftyFive

Mississauga’s very first speakeasy-style bar opened its doors with décor that has been thought through to the T. Adorned in repurposed wood and string lights, Door FiftyFive hosts a modest selection of 14 food items, while the drinks menu is where the establishment really shines. We’ll leave drink choices up to your personal preference, but as far as food goes give the chicken & waffles or the ‘rub me the right way’ beef brisket are good options. The patio seats only 16, though, so make sure to get there early for a spot in the sunshine.

Colossus Greek Taverna

Driving down Lakeshore Road East, it’s hard to miss the large blue and white painted building that houses Colossus. With a massive patio overlooking Port Credit, this higher-end taverna serves up authentic Greek food for one and all to devour. In fact, the owner of Colossus is known to own an actual five-star restaurant in Greece. While the souvlaki and moussaka are classic choices, definitely give the starter platter or juicy lamb chops a go if you decide to stop by Colossus for a summertime meal.

Breakwater Restaurant at The Waterside Inn

Tucked up in between the lake and street front in Port Credit, Breakwater is known for a unique made-to-order BBQ station which serves freshly grilled goods. Oozing grandiose, the restaurant is a testament to fine dining and definitely a must visit for Sunday brunch in Mississauga. With multiple stations for an assortment of foods, go to town with a fancy meal on your visit to Breakwater.

Shore Grill & Grotto

Whether you’re in the mood for a casual fare or a fine dining experience, keep Shore Grill & Grotto on your list of must visits this summer. Featuring an extensive drink list, a street-facing patio, and live music Thursdays to Sundays, there are many reasons one would want to visit this Mississauga establishment.
