La Perle: The Hype Behind Dubai's Immersive Aqua-Theatre

The structure of the theatre is something to behold. It has a capacity of 1,300, uses 2.7 million liters of water and plans to showcase 450 live performances a year – being the first ever resident live performance show in the entire country. The unique concept was conceived by non less than Franco Dragone, the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil director. La Perle will bring together 65 entertainers from different nationalities to astonish the crowd with a variety of aerial and aquatic stunts. One of the features that makes La Perle so unique is that whereas most shows have to undergo adaptations to fit the various stages they’re hosted on, this theatre’s stage was tailor-made with the show itself in mind.
