How to Spend a Day in Ajman, UAE

Thais Kelly

When visiting the United Arab Emirates, most people immediately head to either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. However, these are only two of the seven Emirates of the UAE. Ajman is one of the underdogs when it comes to tourism. However, the city has many things to see and do, and people visiting the country should definitely consider spending a day in this awesome Emirate.

Not many people know that Ajman has some awesome beaches, lined with incredible five star resorts. A fantastic way to start the day in Ajman is by checking in to the Kempinski Hotel Ajman or the Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah. These resorts offer stunning beaches, pools and great restaurants and are a luxurious escape from the crowded Dubai beaches.

After soaking in some vitamin D at the beach, it’s time to check out the city and everything it has to offer. Ajman has a few popular historical sights that attract domestic and international tourists. The Ajman Museum is the most popular. Located in the 18th century Ajman Fort, the building served as a residence to the ruler of Ajman until 1970. The museum highlights the history of the city, and displays weaponry and manuscripts that are centuries old. The most popular of the displays is an excavated cemetery, showcasing pottery and jewelry dating from as far back as 3000 BCE.

The best place to end the day (before heading back to your amazing resort, of course) is the Ajman Corniche. Much like the Abu Dhabi Corniche, the area is home to exciting restaurants and cafes for visitors to enjoy the evening and grab a bite to eat. This is a great place to visit with the family and enjoy a view of both the water and the city as an incredible day in Ajman comes to an end.
