For those single and ready to mingle, Dubai can be a the perfect city for one to meet the love of their life. With such a vast mix of nationalities and backgrounds, this is the land of multi-cultural couples. Whether people are looking for a quick romance or for husband/wife material, there are many ways to meet people. These are a few life hacks to ensure everyone can find their better half.

How to meet people

There are many ways to meet people in Dubai – some more conventional than others. The first step is to think what kind of person is the right one. Like anywhere in the world, different types of people will be at different types of places. It’s very easy to meet people at clubs and bars in Dubai – with an active nightlife that keeps the city pumping every night of the week, there will be a vast array of people to meet, flirt and maybe even fall in love with. However, this might not be everyone’s scene, so another great way to meet people is by finding group activities in common. For instance, for those who love sports, Kite Beach is a great place to go and meet someone like minded– the public beach has community beach volleyball courts which make it easy to mingle with others.

People in Dubai are infinitely busy – life in the the city is non-stop and sometimes it is hard to find the time to go out and actually meet people. For those, Tinder is always an option. Singles in Dubai are extremely active on the app and this is an easy way to meet someone, have a chat and decide if it makes sense to arrange a date.

Where to go on dates

Dubai has no shortage of romantic and fun date ideas. The most important thing before arranging a get together is knowing well who you’re going out with. It’s common that people in Dubai expect dates, specially the first one, to be something extravagant and sometimes extremely expensive. Knowing your date’s personality is important in order not to appear either cheap or too arrogant. For those who don’t have a massive date budget, Dubai has several public beaches and parks for romantic picnics or watching the sunset while getting to know each other better. The city will definitely have a date option for every budget.

What not to do

Dating in Dubai can be tricky, it’s important to know the city’s rules and laws before committing some kind of crime that could get you in trouble. For instance, public displays of affection are not permitted in the city. Therefore, even kissing in public could send a couple of love birds to jail. It’s best to even avoid long hugs and holding hands, which are acts that are frowned upon for unmarried couples. Moving in with one’s partner is also illegal prior to marriage, so for couples wanting to share a roof, it’s best to put a ring on it first.
