The top makeup artists from Dubai aren’t just for the rich and famous. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just a chance to learn some expert tips, here’s who you should be following for some inspiration.

Fyza Ali

One half of makeup artist and model duo SoniaxFyza, Fyza is one of the best-known Dubai makeup artists. With approximately 830,000 followers on Instagram, the sisters have hosted master classes around the world and work with big beauty brands to shift their products. They also happen to resemble Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner and have gained so many fans that they’re now on the verge of releasing their own makeup brand. Fyza believes the Middle East is in an integral part of the beauty world – so many women in the region look to a professional for special occasions, which means big business for her as a makeup artist.

“Contouring was something that began out here,” she tells Culture Trip while speaking about how the West is quite influenced by trends from the region. “Trends usually [start] from grandmothers here, and makeup artists research these and bring them back to the West. Many are from the ancient Arab times and celebrities will be credited for them, but they came from here.”

Najla Gün

Najla has worked with the royal families of the UAE as well as huge Arab celebrities including Yousra and Diana Haddad. Her big career highlight was working with Jennifer Lopez in 2011 when the star’s world tour came to Dubai. She notes that women in the region are very picky about who they choose as their makeup artist and stay loyal. In fact, most of her clients have been with her for seven years.

“I love how makeup can look so different on a person based on their complexion and features and I love experimenting with that,” she tells Culture Trip.

Huda Kattan

Although she’s known all over the world primarily for her brand Huda Beauty, Huda trained to be a makeup artist and is full of many nuggets of wisdom for her Instagram followers. Her celebrity fans range from Bella Hadid to Kim Kardashian and she even has her own reality show on Facebook. The show revolves around what goes on in her Dubai office and beyond.

Joelle Mardinian

Along with being a TV host on MBC1, Joelle Mardinian makes sure her clients look their best as she navigates the world of Dubai makeup artists. She has been an ambassador and lead makeup artist for Max Factor Arabia since 2010 and owns salons across the GCC.

Farah Nadeem

As a popular professional makeup artist in Dubai, Farah empowers women by teaching them skills on her social media channels and via her master classes. Her most recent master class at Galerie Hindam at City Walk, Dubai was so popular that they added a second free class on the same day. Needless to say, more are in the pipeline. Farah’s 60-minute sessions stress on the issues such as the importance of moisturising before makeup application and how to survive the Dubai heat.

Natasha Zaki

Pat McGrath – whose company is estimated to be worth more than Kylie Cosmetics – hired Natasha Zaki as her assistant. Today, the makeup artist is rather successful in her own right and her brand Glossy Make Up is sold at Wojooh, Galeries Lafayette, Ounass and Tryano in the GCC. She’s the one to follow for replicating celebrity looks.

Nina Ubhi

Known for breaking the rules, Nina Ubhi has worked with some high profile names, including E!’s Catt Sadler, and has her own line of products. Nina may be a popular beauty coach, but she’s still available for bridal makeup and services for red carpet events in Dubai.

Angelique Turner

Angelique trained in Los Angeles and her work can be seen on many UAE magazine covers. Along with helping publications fly off the newsstands, she does bridal makeup and makes sure Dubai’s fashion and beauty lovers always look their best for photo shoots.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
