Amman has a few experiences that require a little more effort to discover than others, but a visit to the city isn’t complete without taking in at least a few of them. Culture Trip’s curated list of luxury experiences in Amman will help you to enjoy the city and its surroundings in style.

As the capital and largest city in the country, Amman is Jordan’s cultural centre. Although a relatively young city in the Middle East, it’s also the home of some fascinating ancient ruins and landmarks. While visitors often use Amman as a pit stop on the way to Petra or the Dead Sea, this destination has a lot to offer of its own.

A great place to indulge in some good food, wine and pampering, Amman has a range of experiences to discover, from spas, vineyards and wine tasting, to private street food experiences and VIP travel. These recommendations have been handpicked so you can enjoy your visit just that little bit more.

1. JR Tours - The Vineyard Experience

Class

We’re at the golden age of winemaking and are barely scratching the surface of its potential. Our wine gape vines grow in the Black Desert, one that covers 55,000 square kilometres (21,000 square miles) of basaltic plateau. The desert’s nurturing abilities are vast, making it possible to give life to 45 different grape varieties from Spain, France, Italy and Germany. The water our vines live on is sourced from aquifers 800 metres (2,600 feet) deep. With over 305 days of sun a year, a truly unique wine is produced. On this tour you will get to witness the Mafraq Plateu of Jordan, enjoy wine tasting on the Promenade located at the centre of our 110-hectare (270 acre) vineyard with a walk between the vines, and then a light lunch at our guest house with more wine, music and breathtaking views. Every tour has a special theme based on the season.See how we’re making history and support our mission of putting Jordan on the world’s wine map.
