However, in keeping with the truly diverse and cosmopolitan nature of the city, its nightlife caters to everyone – including sports fanatics. Whether you’re a football (soccer) fan or an NBA enthusiast, here’s where to go when there’s a game you simply can’t miss.

With a daily happy hour and a large selection of live action, from English football and the Champions League to Major League Baseball and the NBA, this bar caters to a diverse range of sports fanatics and draws an international crowd. It has two chains in Tel Aviv – one right by Frishman Beach and the other behind Sarona Market.

This is a proper, no-frills Irish boozer minutes from Frishman Beach showing most major rugby, soccer, Gaelic games (traditional Irish sports) and basketball matches live. The first Irish pub established in Israel, here you can drink beers such as Kilkenny, Weihenstephan and, of course, Guinness, in addition to an impressive selection of whiskeys. The menu features classic British and Irish pub grub, such as fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and beef stew cooked in Guinness as well as a handful of vegan dishes. They have another chain in Tel Aviv’s Sarona Complex.

5. Mate

This is a great laid back local pub with a daily Happy Hour from 4 pm to 8 pm, where you can watch major live football matches from Europe and Israel. Apart from seating both indoors and outdoors, they also have a pool table if you prefer to stay active while sipping on your beer. They offer a wide selection of beers and other alcoholic beverages and some great bar food options, such as their Reuben sandwich. The staff are friendly and fun-loving and the crowd often consists of regulars from the neighbourhood, in both their Florentin and central Tel Aviv branch. On the weekends, you will usually find it packed with people.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet.
