Deliciously Affordable Lobster Restaurants in London

| © Will Drayson / Culture Trip

Lobster has landed in London, thanks to a new wave of gourmet fast food joints serving up everyone’s favourite crustacean in cheap and cheerful ways. Forget fine-dining, these down-to-earth lobster restaurants in London pair high-end ingredients with accessible prices, making it easier than ever to enjoy lobster sans suit and tie. Read our guide to the restaurants serving up premium lobster, without a premium price tag.

Big Easy Bar BBQ and Crabshack

The new Covent Garden venue from the Big Easy group is a major feat in American foodie fare, pulling out all the stops to set up a BBQ joint that just keeps giving and giving. If you can resist the pulled pork, sticky chicken wings or thick-sliced bacon, the lobster here is some of the freshest you can get, and also comes in at some of the best value to be had. The £20 Lobster Feast deal includes a half-pound lobster served with fries, salad and free slushy cocktail or schooner of ale.

Burger & Lobster

This is arguably the lobster joint that started it all. Burger & Lobster cuts through the usual fancy trimmings to offer lobster done whole or in a brioche roll, or a burger for those who dislike seafood. All are £20 and come with fries and a side salad, meaning the only menu you’ll find here is for cocktails. If the lobster is straight to the point, the drinks provide the spice of variety, with a vast selection of ‘Lobster Cocktails’ and ‘Burger Cocktails’. Its combination of quality and manageable prices make it no surprise that this restaurant is still one of Soho’s most popular, and that it has since opened several other branches.

Steak & Lobster

Team Steak or Team Lobster? That’s the simple question this restaurant asks its diners. Diners can choose between a whole lobster or 10oz ribeye steak, served with unlimited fries and salad for £20. The fries are ultra-crunchy and more-ish, and the butter-drenched lobster is remarkably tasty given the price. While die-hard lobster fans will find it an easy choice, Steak & Lobster has all bases covered, with steak bites and lobster cakes available as side dishes, for those who can never decide between surf and turf.
