Step into Belgravia and you could almost be leaving London; with its leafy lanes, pretty squares, and elegant mews houses, it’s a little oasis in the centre of the city. There’s something for everyone, from gorgeous gastro-pubs, to cool cafes or Michelin-starred restaurants, plus plenty of gorgeous boutiques and artisan food shops to browse through. Here are five of the best restaurants in Belgravia.

Sunday Roast at Pont St

Pont Street

Located in the stylish Belgraves Hotel, Pont St is a gorgeous neighbourhood restaurant. It’s perfect for all-day dining, with an American-style menu that combines healthy choices such as superfood salad and grilled mackerel with hearty comfort food such as the bespoke burger or the cod and chips. Superstar chef, Sophie Michell, is Britain’s youngest female chef and her food is inspired by her time in the Mediterranean, California, and Australia. With a history of working as a private chef for celebrities, she knows how to keep meals nutritionally balanced while maintaining flavour. She also cooks a mean Sunday roast!

For salmon and sushi lovers everywhere, this one is for you. Salmontini only uses the very best Scottish smoked salmon for their dishes, and you really taste the high quality. The spicy crispy salmon salad encompasses delicious Japanese flavours, and for the main course choose between tender roasted salmon or a plate of sushi rolls. The fashionable and elegant restaurant doesn’t just serve the signature fish; there’s sea bass, tuna, and prawns on the menu, as well as a selection of meaty grills.

Ametsa with Arzak Instruction

Ametsa with Arzak Instruction is one of Belgravia’s Michelin-starred offerings. Located in the luxurious and modern Halkin Hotel, you can certainly expect silver service and a high-end dining experience. The restaurant is from the team behind three Michelin-starred Arzak in San Sebastian, which has previously been described as one of the best restaurants in the world. The chef uses traditional ingredients from the Basque region, but gives them a modern interpretation and creative twist. For a taster of this incredible cuisine try the set lunch menu, which includes the innovative black ink squid.

Spicy Tuna Sushi Rolls

Kouzu

Take a seat in the stylish ground floor restaurant or perch on a stool at the omakase sushi bar and prepare to sample some of London’s best sushi at Kouzu. Chef Kyoichi Kai, previously of Zuma and the Arts Club, leads a team of all-Japanese kitchen staff at the Belgravia restaurant. As you sit at the open sushi bar you can admire the incredible skill and talent of the chefs as they put together each plate. Everything on the menu is wonderful but the sushi is the star of the show, particularly the spicy tuna. Pair it with a delicious yuzu bellini from the restaurant’s cool cocktail bar.

Yellowtail Sashimi Salad

UNI

Bar, Restaurant, Japanese

UNI is something of a first for Belgravia. In a district where restaurants are rather traditional it’s refreshing to find somewhere serving Nikkei cuisine. The restaurant is stylish and intimate with a bar upstairs serving creative cocktails and Piscos and a downstairs dining area. The menu blends Peruvian dishes such as ceviche, tacos, and tiraditos with delicious Japanese classics such as sushi and sashimi. Everything is good but don’t miss the tempura rock shrimp with creamy spicy mayo and ponzu dressing.
