We all know you’re going to be searching for a delectable meal in the heart of Bermondsey, so why not discover one of the area’s culinary gems.

Cantina del Ponte

A short walk along the river bank from London Bridge provides the perfect backdrop as you make your way to traditional Italian restaurant Cantina del Ponte. Featuring a wonderful, authentic Italian atmosphere, the bar at the front of the restaurant creates tangy cocktails that serve as a perfect start to your dining experience.
If it’s a nice evening, it would be a crime to sit inside, because the view of Tower Bridge, its reflection glistening in the darknes, offers a stunning panorama whilst you sit back and indulge in a glass of wine.

Cantina del Ponte

You may be so taken with the view that you fail to see your starters arrive; however, once you do look down, they might not last very long. A particular favourite among the starters is the heavenly creamy spinach tart, which comes with a light golden pastry base.
It goes without saying that everything on the menu is bursting with flavour, from their Italian dishes to their seafood platters. Their salmon fillet was perfectly moist, and was accompanied by a rich, creamy sauce. The dish was paired perfectly with their continental white wine.
For dessert, the sophisticated cheeses and homemade jam make for a perfect ending to the meal, accompanied by a nice dessert wine or port. It’s hard to find a restaurant with more authenticity and character in the borough.
