Gorillaz has given fans another taste of their upcoming album, Humanz, linking up rapper Pusha T and renowned gospel vocalist Mavis Staples on “Let Me Out.”

Premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, Damon Albarn discussed how the new track was written during an almost two-day train ride out of New York City. Albarn also told Lowe that he has about 40 to 45 songs that didn’t make Humanz‘ 19-track deluxe roster. “I’m just sort of slowly going through all tunes that sort of didn’t work out and finishing them… I can stay in the game for at least another 18 months, I reckon,” Albarn says.

Employing a static-filled, marching beat, Pusha T takes a shot at the current U.S. president in the first verse. “Obama is gone, who is left to save us? / So together we mourn, I’m praying for my neighbors / They say the devil’s at work and Trump is calling favors,” he raps, before sharing his worries about police brutality in the second verse (“Tell me that I won’t die at the hands of the police / Promise me I won’t outlive my nephew and my niece”). Staples counters Pusha’s concerns, singing in the pre-chorus, “You got to die a little if you wanna live / Change coming / You’d best be ready for it.” While the duo fell short in terms of ‘anti-Trump’ tracks on “Hallelujah Money,” “Let Me Out” is a great success.

Gorillaz most recently released four new songs: “Saturnz Barz” (featuring Popcaan), “Andromeda” (featuring D.R.A.M.), “Ascension” (featuring Vince Staples), and “We Got The Power” (featuring Jehnny Beth), as well as a 360-degree short film for “Saturnz Barz.” Humanz is due for release on April 28.
