1. Bay Tree

Now run by a couple from New Zealand, this restaurant offers tasty homemade dishes and freshly made pastries. An ideal spot for lunch with friends, the comforting atmosphere matches the quality of the food. The garden area is lit up with candles and pretty fairylights, creating a relaxed atmosphere in which to dine.

2. My Great Grandfather's

The name of this restaurant was given in honour of the owner Matt’s late grandad, Ernest Ellery Clayton. Ernest was a baker all of his life, and his handmade bread recipes are now used in the restaurant today using locally milled organic flour. Matt travels to local markets to acquire the best and freshest ingredients to use in the menu, creating exquisite dishes such as braised lamb shank and portobello, and garlic wild mushrooms with duo of cheeses. Make sure to sample the dessert menu too, particularly the homemade turkish delight.

Just a two minute walk from Tewkesbury High Street, set on King John’s Island, The Boathouse offers unrivalled views of the river. The friendly staff are ready to provide you with the best service to ensure you have a wonderful meal. And with their delicious menu, that’s pretty much guaranteed. Traditional grub is served up in hearty portion sizes for you to enjoy in the comfortable surroundings and there’s even a fish night on Fridays! Every Thursday evening, their fish suppliers in Cornwall, Devon and Scotland inform them of their day’s catch and it’ll be delivered and ready on the specials board by Friday evening. Magic!

5. Theoc House

A relaxed and informal environment to have dinner with friends, Theoc House is an independently owned owned eatery in the heart of the town. The menus are created seasonally, using the freshest ingredients – expect everything from tapas to homemade delicacies like mac and cheese and cornflake chicken. They even have a beautiful library room that you can rent out for special occasions.
