We know the feeling: you’ve had a few cocktails after work, you’re feeling peckish, but nowhere seems to be serving food. Here to help, we’ve rounded up our selection of the best places to grab a bite to eat late at night in Leeds.

Friends of Ham

Restaurant, European, Beer

From Thursday to Saturday, this charcuterie close to Leeds train station stays open until midnight offering cheese and ham boards alongside extensive wine lists and an impeccable selection of craft beer. Earlier in the week, it closes just an hour earlier, providing delicious continental cheeses and hams to those who’ve left it late to eat. Choose from their selection of pre-planned boards or DIY to sample a selection of ethically sourced meat and tantalising cheese. It can often get crowded earlier on, so it’s usually a good shout to head here later anyway.

Bundobust

Restaurant, Indian, Street Food, Vegetarian

Open until midnight at the weekend and 11pm during the week, Bundobust is as well known for its vegetarian Indian street food as it is for its craft beer. Only a small space, it gets packed earlier on and it can actually be easier to find a table later in the night when most punters have moved on to drinks. The entire menu is vegetarian with several vegan options, but even the most hard-core carnivores are sure to feel satisfied with the delicious flavours and filling plates.

Zaap Thai

Restaurant, Thai

Street food is always a great option for a late-night bite, and Zaap Thai doesn’t disappoint. Open until 11pm every night, this is the place to head if you suddenly get a craving for traditional Thai cuisine hours past your usual meal time. The open kitchens and bustling crowd make it seem like it’s much earlier, even if you sneak in just before they close for the night. The wide variety of Thai dishes covers everything from curries to salads, noodles and tasty snacks – with something for every appetite.

Red’s True Barbecue

Restaurant, American

Not one for vegetarians (although they do have a few options on the menu), Red’s stays open late doors to serve meat-based dishes. Serving food until midnight at the weekend and just an hour earlier in the week, the focus is obviously on barbecued meat dishes with steaks, ribs, chicken and burgers taking centre stage. If you’re just seeking a snack, their loaded fries are perfect for soaking up a couple of pints.

Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen

Bar, Restaurant, Pub Grub, Wine, Beer, Cocktails, British

The perfect place for late-night snacking, Belgrave Music Hall have two resident caterers that serve delicious fast-food late into the night. Whether you’re popping in specifically for food or you just fancy a snack after a few craft beers, Patty Smith’s burgers and fries or a couple of slices of Dough Boys pizza are sure to fill you up. If you’re visiting on the second Saturday of the month, you’re in extra luck as this coincides with the monthly street food feast, offering plenty of options for late night munchies.

Kendell’s Bistro

Restaurant, French, Vegetarian, Vegan

If you’re looking for a more formal late-night eating option, Kendell’s Bistro is the perfect place for a delayed date. This romantic bistro offers a variety of classic French dishes that will tantalise your taste-buds late into the night. The restaurant closes at 11.30pm, making it a popular choice for dining after its contemporaries have closed their doors. Call ahead to reserve a table on the weekend.
