The interiors are a mixture of styles – everything from Victoriana to Renaissance – and the effect is enticingly decadent. This subterranean nightclub is a hugely popular live music venue, attracting an impressive line-up of new and established bands. Moles also plays host to some of Bath’s best themed nights, including Tuesday’s The Big Cheese (all the pop classics you could hope for) and Thursday’s Stereo, playing fantastic rock and indie tunes. It’s a popular student haunt, but also much-loved by Bath locals. Fun night out, guaranteed.

This quirky bar, right in the heart of Bath’s city centre, has more than 200 different gins on offer, including Bath Gin (featuring a winking Jane Austen on the bottle), which is distilled in the cellars on site.
