The beautiful South West city of Bristol is known for its great shopping (and the famous Suspension bridge, of course). With a number of different locations to hit for a bit of retail therapy, knowing where to go can get a little tricky. That’s why we’ve created an easy guide to the best menswear stores that the city has to offer.
A worldwide established brand known for its quality, we don’t need to explain why Carhartt should be on your radar. However, the Park Street based store feels more like an independent shop than anything else. With a slick offering of everything from trousers to shirts to accessories, you may end up spending more than you originally intended – just try and resist!
Just a bit further up Park Street from Carhartt, you’ll find independent store Cooshti. Open since the early ’90s, the store is run by a group of people who know their streetwear, music and art inside out. With an array of streetwear and sneakers available from brands such as Adidas, Brixton, Champion, Edwin, Penfield and more, this is your one-stop-shop for pretty much every menswear item you could wish for. Just pop in and the friendly and knowledgable staff are sure to help you find what you need.
At the very bottom of Park St (let’s face it, this is a pretty good street for men’s shopping), sits the well-established skateboard and urban clothes store Fifty Fifty. The independent retailer has a huge offering of footwear from brands like Nike, Converse, Vans, t-shirts including some cool independent brands, sweats, shirts, hoodies, trousers, caps and more!
Head to Cabot Circus, the huge shopping mall in the centre of the city and you’ll find loads of stores offering products for men. One of the stores that is a must-visit for guys looking for some cool new footwear is size? – a trainer store primarily aimed at men where you’re guaranteed to find a fresh pair of kicks, whatever your colour or brand preference.
Up in the architecturally beautiful area of Clifton lies Hoko, an independent little boutique in the heart of the area. The bright, clean and minimal aesthetic of the interior sets the tone from the get-go. The brand stocks the likes of Acne, Comme des Garcons, A.P.C and more – this is a must-visit for guys who like their brands.
Maze has been around since 1985, so are pretty much specialists in men’s style (although they do also have a women’s offering). Sitting in The Mall in Clifton, the store is stocked with a number of carefully selected international brands (including Edwin, Norse projects and Oliver Spencer). Expect a varied range of men’s t-shirts, trousers, jackets, accessories and more.
Since first opening its doors in Spring 2012, independent store Fox + Feather has established itself as the go-to place for creative and vibrant dressers to find new items of clothing. Showcasing the best in men’s fashion from across Europe, there’s a niche but broad selection of menswear for the stylish guy .
