You Can Now Try 'Human Curling' in the Heart of Central London
As confirmed by London’s snowmageddon last week, it is definitely still winter, and we have just discovered the absolute best ice activity on the planet.
It’s called ‘Go-Nutting’ or ‘human curling’ and it’s the latest snowy sport craze straight from the French Alps. The good news is, you too can partake in the fun right here in London at Queens – Skate Dine Bowl!
Unlike normal curling where participants slide stones across the ice and onto a target, in human curling, you slide yourself. Basically, you hold an inner tube akin to the type used for the water-sport tubing, run across the ice (wearing ice grips of course) and launch yourself, stomach first, on to the tube. Aiming for the target you slide across the ice and hopefully reach the middle for a winning human bullseye.
Yes, it’s just as fun as it sounds.
Queens – Skate Dine Bowl is conveniently located straight off the Central Line in West London’s Bayswater area. The cost of the experience is £35 per person and you get to try regular curling and ice go karting as well.
Drinks and dinner from the Meatliquor on the premises are a good shout too. There’s your weekend sorted!
