There’s nothing better than picking up a good book and those in Liverpool should look no further than News From Nowhere. Situated on Bold Street, this empowering space is more than just a book shop. It’s a cultural hub, empowering space and the books they stock are all in the hope that they will influence people to make positive changes in their immediate community and wider world. News From Nowhere is also jointly owned and managed by the paid shop workers, and they’re a non-for-profit organisation.

Henry Bohn

For the more spontaneous bookworm, Henry Bohn Books should be right up your street. Forget the Waterstones-style, meticulous A-Z and genre-defining shop sections, this is a real jungle – of paper variety. In the same vein that you never know what you’re going to get in a charity shop, Henry Bohn Books should excite both the most ardent readers and those stepping in to the unknown.

Head here for an impulsive browse without really knowing what you’re looking for, or just ask the incredibly helpful owner, Jerry, and he’ll help you find what you’re after!
