And the Happiest Places to Live in the UK Are...

A recent report called ‘Unbroken Britain‘ by Provident Personal Credit asked 2,642 people in the UK to rate on a scale of 1-10 on how they felt within their community.

The questions in the survey ranged from rating overall happiness, to noisy neighbours and whether or not participants felt a strong sense of community in their areas. The happiest places in Britain were those in which residents felt safe and had low crime rates – sorry London, you didn’t make the cut no matter how amazing you are.

10. Coventry…

Why’s it so good? Seventy-five percent of respondents said there was an overwhelming sense of community in Coventry, and almost half the people who live in the city said they would never, ever leave it. Impressive.

Why’s it so good? A vast number of Brightonites and Hoveites said they were incredibly proud of their town. Fifty-seven percent of them even said they would invite their neighbours round for drinks!

Why’s it so good? Lots of Mancs said they shop local, are deeply involved in the community and found the place very friendly overall.

Why’s it so good? Eighty percent of residents in this Welsh town said they’re on bestie terms with their immediate neighbours and a staggering 70% said they feel proud about the place.

Why’s it so good? Another Welsh city on the list. An impressive 92% of residents say the town is so friendly that people will greet you on the street. If that happened in London, well…

Why’s it so good? A strong community helped this Scottish city scoop the number five spot. Sixty percent of respondents said they would help with their neighbour’s DIY.

Why’s it so good? Eighty-six percent of people say they love their neighbours and almost 60% say they are proud of their local area. Gold stars all round.

Why’s it so good? This beautiful and magical walled northern English city is dubbed one of the friendliest places to live in the entire country. There’s very, very little crime too. Shame it’s so cold.

Why’s it so good? Another Welsh city! (It’s a sign everyone, let’s all move to Wales). Again, safety, great neighbours and a strong sense of community makes Wrexham one of the happiest places to live in the UK.
