With a range of restaurants to choose from in Newcastle, finding somewhere to eat can be tricky – and finding somewhere to eat late can be even trickier. When 9 p.m. is too early for your feast, here are five of the best restaurants in the city that serve a little later than usual.

Dabbawal

Dabbawal is a dual-site Indian restaurant in Newcastle, with eateries based in the High Bridge and Jesmond areas. Dubbing itself the ‘original street food pioneers’, you’ll be able to snack on delicious Mumbai street food to your heart’s content.

Babucho

Babucho is a bar and lounge club and restaurant specialising in Italian dishes. Its packed menu offers everything from calamari to pizza and steak to risotto – and there’s a rather solid wine list too. Once dining is over, Babucho turns in to a cocktail bar, perfect for an after-dinner treat.

The Bake

The Bake is a Lebanese/Italian restaurant situated in the Byker area of the city. Perfect for groups, The Bake is famous for its grilled meats, sharing platters and anything from mezze to shawarma or even seafood and, the local staple, chicken parmesan. Food is served until midnight.

House of Tides

House of Tides is a Michelin-starred restaurant located within a beautifully restored 16th-century merchant’s house on Newcastle’s Quayside. It offers a seasonal tasting menu that showcases the best of North East England’s produce in a fine dining setting. Expect innovative, locally-inspired dishes crafted by chef-patron Kenny Atkinson.

Dabbawal

Dabbawal is a popular Indian street food restaurant with two locations in Newcastle. It’s known for its vibrant and bustling atmosphere, offering a menu filled with flavorful dishes like biryanis, curries, and a wide array of vegetarian options. The street food-inspired small plates are perfect for sharing.
