Being one of the most visited cities in Ukraine, Kamianets-Podilskyi has a lot of good restaurants. Italian and European cuisine can be found at every venue, but to experience true traditional Ukrainian food, you should know the spots. Here are the best restaurants to book tables at.

1. Hetman

The hotel and restaurant Hetman serves Ukrainian cuisine. Here you can try all the most popular dishes, from classic borscht and smetana (sour cream) to salo (pork fat) and vareniki (filled dumplings) with various fillings. Located in the historic centre of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Hetman is stylized as a traditional Ukrainian khata (hut). Along with local dishes, there are Armenian meat and fish delicacies, mostly cooked on the grill. During the summertime, Hetman opens a cosy outdoor area for patrons to enjoy the nice weather.

2. Primavera

Primavera restaurant of the Reikartz hotel is an exquisite venue for fine dining. There is the main hall, which is perfect for important celebrations; a summer terrace, which is a favourite place for romantic dates; and a lounge that is open around the clock. Primavera offers Italian cuisine, so you can order pasta, risotto, lasagna, pork with Gorgonzola cheese or many others dishes. Don’t forget to finish the meal with a sweet treat like tiramisu. In the evenings, candles are lit in the restaurant and live music is played. Therefore, you should come to Primavera with people who are dear to your heart.

3. Korchma Try Stavky

Although it originated in the Carpathians, it can be found in any Ukrainian city, and Kamianets-Podilskyi is no exception. Korchma Try Stavky was designed as a traditional Western Ukrainian chalet and serves food that compliments the atmosphere. You should definitely try it when you’re in Ukraine. In addition, it has a rich grill menu that tastes especially good on the spacious summer terrace.

5. Blomanje

There’s a variety of European dishes like mouthwatering warm salads, spicy snacks and meats cooked in different ways. Not to mention the classic desserts that will please even the most discerning gourmand. While walking around the main attractions of the city, it is impossible to bypass Blomanje. It occupies two levels and consists of two spacious halls, a library and a balcony-terrace.

6. London

London is a steakhouse in Kamianets-Podilskyi, decorated as a classic British pub with wooden furniture and dark tones. In the daytime, guests can come here for lunch and order food from European and British themed menus. There are 14 varieties of steaks and a nice choice of sides and salads. In the evening, London is a great place for a pint of beer and a delicious snack. As the venue has three rooms, you can book a separate area for a celebration or a banquet.

7. Cruchon

Here there’s a room for kids with a nanny and an abundant selection of healthy dishes. The main menu consists of European cuisine and traditional Ukrainian courses like okroshka (cold soup). There are also smoothies, non-alcoholic cocktails and a wine map to compliment your food. Hookah lovers can visit Cruchon at any time of the day and find an interesting choice of tobaccos.

8. Pid Bramoyu

The words pid bramoyu in Ukrainian mean ‘under the getaway’, and this restaurant is aptly named as it is located at the entrance of the fourteenth century Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle. Here, you’ll find Ukrainian and Armenian cuisine. Be sure to get the signature dish shashlik (skewered and grilled meat), which can be served with fresh greens, vegetables and bread. The venue is especially attractive because of its medieval interior decorations, as well as the breathtaking panorama of its ancient fortification and Smotrichsky Canyon, which stretches for 9 km (5.6 miles).
