Situated north west of central Stockholm, Vasastan is seldom mentioned in travelogues and guidebooks. However, it is home to some of the most spectacular architecture in the region and makes a great place to enjoy a relaxing weekend brunch. A restaurant business with ethical purpose, Green Rabbit works with its grain growers to make sure their income is guaranteed. The chefs, Mathias Dahlgren and Martin Berg, have operated two restaurants in the Michelin Guide, and there is no doubt about their culinary skills as well as their Fairtrade credentials. Beautiful bread and pastries are served in the brunch session.

Arizona offers the hottest and spiciest brunch in town. The restaurant resembles a bar in Central America, with an eclectic decor of Scandinavian wooden walls and floor tiles and Caribbean decorations, The menu, however, serves both Mexican and Swedish food; the fajitas and hamburgers are particularly good.

Fondueboden

Fondueboden offers the most authentic Swiss fondue in the city with a wide selection, all of which are homemade. Options include meat, fish or Mexican, and are prepared using fresh ingredients. The most popular choice among these options is the super-sweet ‘Melted Toblerone’, a fondue with cognac, marshmallows, meringues, fruits and ice cream.

Café Seg 70 is a small café with great enthusiasm. The decorations are nostalgic, with newspapers on the wall, vintage furniture and background jazz music. The restaurant’s signatures are baked sourdough bread and salads; watch out for the fantastic grilled bread with avocao and cheese, The restaurant can only accommodate around ten people, therefore, it’s better to go there early and grab your seat.

Boqueria is well known for its pintxos and stews, which are definitely the must-try dishes here, all served in an interior that resembles a chalet, for a taste of classic Scandinavian architecture. Boqueria is also a market hall, and for those who love to cook this hall offers many fresh and rare ingredients that may give you inspiration for cooking.

American Table

American Table has a nice open kitchen that allows you to see the chefs prepare brunch favorites such as Eggs Benedict from scratch. The restaurant prides itself for using local products for preparing American dishes. Keeps some space for the coconut cream pies.
