You likely won’t hear many complaints at this resort, though, thanks to the pirate-themed splash park, beach volleyball court, playground, air-rifle shooting range, archery, sports courts and activity programme. After dark, attention turns to the bar, where there’s live entertainment every evening.

This adults-only property is right in the centre of Cala d’Or, with restaurants and bars on the doorstep and a beach just a short walk away. The hotel itself puts the emphasis firmly on relaxation, with a spa, two pools, yoga lessons, a buffet restaurant and even a snack truck available for quick bites between meals.

8. Hotel Seramar Comodoro Playa

While not an adults-only hotel, this updated ’60s-era property certainly leans in that direction, with its child-free chill-out zone topping its facilities. Its beachfront setting overlooking Palmanova’s sandy coast also impresses and provides most accommodation with fine sea views. While half-board comes as standard, there’s an optional all-inclusive that covers all meals (with live-cooking stations and twice-weekly themed buffets) and a good selection of drinks that even includes a cocktail or two.

9. Fergus Style Cala Blanca Suites

Chain Hotel

In the popular resort in Santa Ponsa, but set away from its more raucous nightlife, this all-suite hotel has a prime position overlooking the pretty Cala Blanca cove. This upmarket, updated property is a hit with holidaying families due to its super-child-friendly facilities as well as its excellent (optional) all-inclusive plan. Food quality scores high, with lots of regular themed buffets, snacks and most drinks included in the rate. You can also escape the kids by heading to the adults-only rooftop with sunbeds, jacuzzis and sea views.
