If you’re hoping to woo, seduce, or even pop the question while in Ibiza, it’s good to know where to go for a romantic dinner – whichever part of the island you’re on. From candlelit garden terraces to dining in an old monastery chapel, we’ve got the lowdown on the most swoon-worthy restaurants on Ibiza.

La Imprenta

Cocktail Bar, Restaurant, French, Spanish

If you’re hoping for a romantic night out with a decadent dining experience, then La Imprenta is the place to go. Located in the old print-works for the Diario de Ibiza newspaper in Dalt Vila, the interiors of this 18th century building are seriously impressive. There are different salons in which to dine or drink, with plush velvet drapes, moody lighting, dark woodwork and sumptuous furnishings all reminiscent of a Parisian supper club. The cocktails are a sight to be seen ⏤ served in a range of unusual, metal receptacles, often with elaborate garnishes, and the dinner menu is mouth-watering, offering a mix of Spanish and French cuisine. Whilst dining alfresco throughout the summer months is always appealing, you really will be missing out if you don’t sit indoors at this place, if only to experience the incredible Black Box cocktail bar. Even the beautifully decorated toilets feel lavish.

Amante

Restaurant, Mediterranean, Seafood

In an idyllic setting, nestled in the cliffs above the beach, and overlooking Sol d’en Serra bay, Amante beach club is a great place for a date. The stunning views make it perfect for a romantic pre-dinner cocktail while watching the sun go down, followed by a candle-lit fine-dining experience on either of the terraces. The restaurant serves excellent contemporary Mediterranean food and has an extensive wine and cocktail menu. After dinner enjoy a night-cap whilst relaxing on a comfy lounge chair with the sound of waves lapping at the shore in front of you.

Sa Capella

Restaurant, Spanish, Mediterranean

Set in the huge open space of an ancient monastery chapel, dining at Sa Capella is a world away from the nearby resort of San Antonio. Inside, the huge hall with high arches, exposed stone-work and large suspended metal candelabras, is very grand, while outside the pretty terrace with bougainvillea-clad walls and candle-lit tables feels more rustically romantic. Open only in the evenings, the food is modern Mediterranean and the grilled fish and meats are particularly good. If you like the restaurant so much that you want to take it to another level romantically, you can also get married in this old chapel.

La Belle Ibiza

Bar, Cocktail Bar, Restaurant, Fusion, Asian, French

Owned by a French couple who upped sticks and moved to Ibiza with their young daughter, La Belle Ibiza, in the village of San Rafael, serves delicious modern French cuisine with a heavy Asian influence. If dining alfresco is your thing, the restaurant has a beautiful courtyard garden adorned with flowers, lanterns and fairy lights, and candle-lit tables, while inside the decor is very much boho-chic, and has a bustling atmosphere in the central tables, with more quiet areas by the fireplace. A perfect place for a romantic dinner if you’re looking for a relaxed, bohemian ambience. There’s also the opportunity to carry on after dinner, in the bar and club area which is open til late, with DJs and other acts performing.

Tradición Samar

Restaurant, Seafood

With a pretty and colourful, candle-lit terrace area at the base of the ancient walls to Dalt Vila (Ibiza Old Town), Tradición Samar is a very pleasant place to enjoy a low-key, but romantic dinner. Serving freshly caught, and simply cooked local seafood, the restaurant’s window, known as The Market, allows you to choose your fish before it is cooked. The mussels and lobster are excellent, and the Brazilian chef produces some fantastic ceviche, all of which is presented beautifully.

The Giri Café

Restaurant, Mediterranean, Fusion

If an intimate dinner, served in a beautifully lit garden, is your ideal romantic evening, then The Giri Café is the place to go. By day, the garden terrace is all sunshine, flowers and relaxed lunches with views over the vegetable patches, but once the sun sets and the lanterns are lit, it looks quite magical. You can start your evening with a cocktail at the bar, or relaxing on a day-bed, before experiencing some exquisite Mediterranean cuisine at a candle-lit table under the pergola in the garden, or inside the sleek and contemporary restaurant if you prefer.

Can Domingo

Restaurant, Italian, Mediterranean, European

Can Domingo is an Italian restaurant in an old finca, serving simple but delicious food, with vegetables grown in the restaurant’s garden. Tables outside in the garden, sit amongst the trees, are nicely lit and have views over the hills, while inside the setting is more cosy and rustic. To start the evening drinks are served at the bar built around a huge and ancient olive tree and there is often live jazz playing. Perfect for some old-school romance.
