When Coco Chanel has inspired a hotel, expect something a little special, which Bless Hotel delivers. Its black-and-white colour scheme with pops of pastel continues oh-so-chicly throughout the property. Its Bathology concept is a fine example of its unashamedly hedonistic philosophy, where soap butlers take the bubbling bathing experience to the next level. The chef behind the cuisine has a Michelin-star heritage, and the Epic Infinity Lounge is the stuff of holiday fantasies.

There’s something of a citadel feel about the Insotel Fenicia Prestige Suites and Spa, both in the imposing sandstone-hued façade and sheer size. The range of high-end facilities certainly matches the grandeur, with the deluxe spa offering a dizzying range of treatments and therapies. A huge swimming pool with a hydromassage zone and numerous clamshell loungers take centre stage, while dining takes the form of a vast buffet restaurant and three excellent à la carte eateries.

Fusing the vibes of a Japanese Zen garden with the laid-back, whitewashed style of the Mediterranean, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is arguably the most relaxing hotel on the island. From the moment you step into the lobby, which has sweeping views over the infinity pool, a sense of calm will wash over you. It has six drinking and dining options – including namesake restaurant Nobu – as well as a hair salon and spa for some pampering before heading out for the night. The nightclub Pacha is nearby if you’re looking for a boogie, and when it’s time to hang up your dancing shoes, the hotel is a five-minute walk away.

Paradiso Ibiza

Paradiso Ibiza is the pinnacle of retro-cool. The bold and kitschy design is dominated by millennial pink and minty pastel shades and accented by eccentric contemporary art and neon lights in the ’70s-style rooms (complete with Smeg fridges and Marshall speakers). Every inch of this hotel comes ready-made for your social media feed – especially out by the pool, where candy-striped pergolas and a cylindrical bar resemble something from Miami in the ’60s. Reflecting the hedonistic and fun-loving attitude of the island, extras include an on-site tattoo parlour and Mustang rental, and the slightly bonkers opportunity to stay the night for free in the glass-walled suite that sits in the lobby.

7Pines Kempinski Ibiza

Luxury

Set in a quiet corner on the west coast of the island, 7Pines Kempinski has claimed prime real estate on a cliff edge, between the Mediterranean Sea and bucolic pine forests. It’s a romantic getaway, sequestered from the thumping beats. There are pools on-site, but beach lovers can head to the idyllic Cala Codolar, which is just 200m (656ft) away. After a day on the sand, return for a modern Asian meal at the View, aptly named for its views, especially the Balearic Isles sunsets.

It’s also surprisingly family-friendly, with a kids’ club and a separate pool for the little ones. The suites crank up the luxury, with sea-view terraces and private pools, while neighbouring Nikki Beach hosts some of the hottest live acts on the island.

Its natural stone elements and crisp Balearic linens combine with contemporary styling and a laid-back atmosphere to make the eco-friendly Aguas de Ibiza a luxurious favourite. Designed using feng shui principles, the guest rooms and suites feature natural woods and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the sea views. The rooftop pool also boasts incredible panoramas, and there are several outstanding on-site restaurants.

Hacienda Na Xamena

Independent Hotel

The Hacienda Na Xamena’s location is a beautiful one, set on a coastal cliff and surrounded by a pine forest. It opened more than 40 years ago and was the first five-star hotel on the island. Today, the son of the hotel’s architect runs the characterful property, where Balearic boho-chic abounds. It features sea views from most of the 77 rooms, with some suites adding private gardens with hot tubs. But stealing the show is a series of heated seawater pools linked by tiered waterfalls that seem to cascade down the cliff – not a bad spot to enjoy the views.

Ca Na Xica

Boutique Hotel

Sitting in the centre of the island, surrounded by sun-kissed fields, ancient olive trees and pine forests, Ca Na Xica’s setting is nothing short of idyllic. This adults-only boutique retreat blends minimalist Balearic chicness with rustic charm and offers top-notch facilities such as a chlorine-free swimming pool, an inside-outside spa and a small man-made beach. As an all-suite property, accommodation is roomy and stuffed with high-end amenities.
