The Costa del Sol Luxury Boutique Torremolinos is located in the centre of Torremolinos, just a short walk from the beach. It has just 36 rooms, offering a sense of intimacy, and provides a tranquil space with clean lines and lots of white. Choose from standard, triple or superior rooms with private balconies. Despite its size, the hotel has not one, but three dining venues, including a buffet restaurant, a rooftop bar and a cafe. There’s also an outdoor pool and gym.

Hotel Isabel is located right on the beachfront in Torremolinos. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, decorated in a seaside theme of blue and white. They offer individual and double rooms, as well as family rooms with sofa beds. Some of the rooms even boast sea views and private balconies. There’s no restaurant on site, but there is a breakfast buffet room and plenty of places to eat nearby. Other facilities include an outdoor pool and garden.

3. Meliá Costa del Sol

Meliá Costa del Sol is set right on the beachfront in the centre of Torremolinos, backed by mountains and surrounded by palm trees. The rooms are light and bright and each has its own private balcony overlooking the sea. You’ll be spoilt for eating options here with two restaurants – one a buffet and one an a la carte Mediterranean restaurant, and a bar. You can also relax by unwinding in the 350sq m (3,767sq ft) Thalasso Spa, sunning yourself in the solarium or the terrace or workout in the gym. There’s also an outdoor pool.

4. Essence Boutique Hotel by Don Paquito

The Essence Boutique Hotel by Don Paquito can be occupies an ideal location, close to the centre of Torremolinos and just a three-minute walk to the beach. It’s both contemporary and stylish, and was totally refitted this year. Highlights include a gleaming white outdoor space with a solarium, outdoor pool and hot tub. There’s even a luxurious hammam, decorated in shimmering Arabic style blue and green tiles. The elegant rooms meanwhile are cosy, covered in slate and royal blue. There’s also a Balinese-style suite, which can accommodate a family of four, and a buffet restaurant.

5. Gran Cervantes By Blue Sea

The hotel Gran Cervantes By Blue Sea sits right in the centre of Torremolinos, just 500m (1,640ft) from the beach. It’s a big complex offering lots of services and amenities, from a gym to outdoor and indoor pools, a kids’ club and buffet-style restaurants. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a quaint country style with floral soft furnishings and polished wooden floors and furniture. All of the rooms offer private balconies, while some offer beautiful sea views too.

The Hotel Ritual Torremolinos is an adults-only gay hotel, which is situated very close to the beach and to the centre of Torremolinos. It’s a colourful and stylish place, with large spacious rooms featuring private balconies, lots of polished wood and all the latest mod cons. Many of the rooms offer sea views, as does the roof terrace, which also features a nudist zone and cocktail bar. The hotel boasts a boutique clothes store, rooftop pool, sauna, spa and gym. Activities and excursions are also organised from here.

7. Hotel El Pozo

The 3-star Hotel El Pozo is located right in the very heart of Torremolinos, very close to the train station and just a short walk from the beach. It’s light, cosy, dressed in tones of cream and chocolate, and offers great value for money. Guests can also make use of the 24-hour bar, dance floor, open air patio and breakfast room, serving pastries baked on site.
