This spacious, laid-back restaurant is located in the heights of Gracià, between Fontana and Lesseps, and is a favourite with many of the area’s residents. The extensive menu of authentic Thai dishes at El Petit Bangkok includes a selection of starters, including spring rolls and satay skewers, rice dishes, curries, stir-fries and soups all prepared in-house according to traditional recipes. The décor is colourful and casual, great for small groups of friends and informal get togethers. It has a long-standing reputation as one of the best Thai restaurants in Barcelona and continues to stand up to the test of time.

2. Indochine Ly Leap

Not exclusively a Thai restaurant, Indochine Ly Leap pays homage to the best of Asian cuisine, offering a selection of some of the most well loved dishes from across South-East Asia with just a touch of fusion. The restaurant is owned by Cambodian entrepreneur Ly Leap, who wanted to open a restaurant that respected the traditions and spirit of Asian cuisine, combining the best of Asian flavours and cooking methods. Thanks to the elaborate décor, heavy on tropical plants and traditional artwork , it’s easy to feel yourself transported to the other side of the world and taken on a journey through senses and flavours.

3. Bangkok Cafe

It’s not unusual for people to confuse this authentic Thai restaurant with the equally popular El Petit Bangkok – fortunately both are some of the best Thai restaurants in Barcelona and a meal in either would be a pleasant treat. Located in Sants, this casual Thai restaurant is passionate about the quality of the dishes it serves and on its friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The staff at the Bangkok Café are always more than happy to explain dishes or offer a recommendation and the place has that great neighbourhood feel.

5. Banna

This popular eatery located in the heart of the old town of Gracià offers an extensive choice of traditional Thai dishes, including fish-based specialities, stir-fries, curries and salads. The dishes at Banna are all prepared to Thai standards, although the chefs are happy to accommodate particular requirements or preferences when needed. The prawn soup with coconut milk and lime is worth a particular mention, as is the traditional pad thai. In addition to its indoor dinning room, Banna has outdoor seating looking on to the Plaça de la Revolución.
