As the host of the 2014 Winter Olympics and a Formula 1 grand prix, it’s fair to say Sochi is obsessed with sport. You’ll find a range of bars screening all the big World Cup matches in this coastal city, so don’t worry if you don’t have a ticket. Here are the best bars in Sochi to watch all the drama unfold.

American Diner

Diner, American

American-style burgers, steaks, chicken wings and spare ribs are served at the American Diner located in Sochi’s Zhemchuzhina Hotel. You will undoubtedly be transported back to the American ’60s upon arrival at this nicely furnished venue. The food and drinks are very good, and the prices are more than fair. It’s a great place to watch a match and a fabulous location to start a pub crawl.

Prince of Wales

Pub, British, Pub Grub, Seafood

This traditional English pub shows football matches as well other sports and has a wide selection of local and imported beers. There are also plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The Prince of Wales’ menu is mainly made up of pub grub.

Che? Harcho!

Restaurant, Russian

Run by the Moscow restaurant group White Rabbit Family, Che? Harcho! serves up affordable dishes made from local ingredients. The bar regularly screens football matches, so head there during the World Cup.

Fain Feld

Bar, German

Settle back into comfortable sofas and armchairs and cosy up to a perfectly prepared cocktail or order yourself a craft beer in this typical German beer and food venue right in the heart of Sochi. Get there in advance or book a table to secure the best spot. There’s also a special discount for those who come in a big group. Score!

O'Hara

Pub, Irish, British

You’ll find a vast selection of beer and reasonably priced pub food at Irish bar O’Hara. O’Hara boasts a number of sports channels, which you can watch on the bar’s many flat-screen TVs and projectors. Cheers!
