Russia’s stylish capital is a must for culinary travellers. A multi-cultural city, it has a lot to offer for those who are seeking something new. We’ve prepared a list of gastronomic startups in the heart of the city and if you’re a real foodie, you can’t miss it.

1. Pub Lo Picasso

Restaurant, Gastropub, Spanish, Seafood, Mediterranean, European, Vegan, Vegetarian

This contemporary Spanish gastropub is located right in the historical district of Moscow, near Kitay-Gorod. The interior is very extravagant with dark floors and walls. The menu options are really tasty. Everything is cooked in the wood oven and served with a bottle of good wine and sparkling water. The wine list is a collaboration of Spanish and local wines. We highly recommend to book in advance, it’s always full.

2. Rico

Restaurant, Seafood, Russian, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-free

‘Your favourite fish restaurant.’ – that’s what the proprietors say about their restaurant. This is a contemporary fish and seafood startup dining institution. The chef de cuisine uses only top-quality ingredients delivered to the restaurant daily. Offering a vast choice of carpaccio, tuna, salmon and many more seafood options, it’s that kind of meal that you want to linger for hours over. Do yourself a favour, book a table and come for a dinner when you’re in Russia for the World Cup.

3. True Burgers

Cafe, Russian, Coffee, Tea

This is a contemporary burger bar and cafe. Located in the central district of Moscow but it is sometimes its tricky to find if you’re a visitor. They don’t accept credit and debit cards, so be ready with cash. As well as the classic beef burgers, there are also fish, chicken and veggie options, a vast choice of soups and salads and pumpkin courses are on offer starting from October. Delicious!
