Modern Moscow’s cocktail bar scene is growing very fast, and locals are always looking for a friendly atmosphere and an absence of crowds. You’ll find them at these bars, hiding from the masses and drinking some exclusive cocktails.

Voda Bar

Bar, Cocktail Bar, Pub Grub, Russian

Voda bar opened its doors in July 2017 and immediately became a beloved spot of trendy locals. The cocktail list is so extensive that you don’t even know what they will have on offer the next week. They offer many seasonal drinks made with local and imported ingredients. The place is located in the city centre, but we highly recommend checking a map before, as it’s hidden in an old yard.

Golova Bar

Bar, Russian, Pub Grub

Another hidden bar is located in the Tverskoy District of Moscow, near Trubnaya Metro station. There’s a vast choice of local and imported alcohols, snacks, good music on Friday and Saturday and pretty strict FC & DC. We highly recommend you to check their Instagram account and Google Maps before you go, but once you’re there, you’re guaranteed to have a lot of fun a la Russe with locals only.

Public Bar

Bar, Russian, Pub Grub

If you’re looking for something unusual that only locals know about, something you cannot book online or over the phone, then look no further than Public Bar. It’s located in the historical centre of Moscow, in an old Stalinist building. There’s a great cocktail and wine list.

Mitzva Bar

Bar, Israeli

This typical Israeli bar is a real gem in the heart of town. Locals like to grab a drink here from Wednesday. Great cocktails are accompanied by authentic Israeli flavours and traditional snacks. We highly recommend you to visit on a Thursday evening.

Veladora

Bar, Mexican

This Mexican bar and tacos spot just opened its doors last week, and it has already become very popular with locals. It’s located in the historical part of the city, and offers a vast choice of traditional Mexican drinks, cocktails, beers, nachos, tacos and more. Good music and neon decorations create a special atmosphere for a relaxed evening with tequila and salt.

Berlin Bar

Bar, Pub Grub, Russian

Locals call this place “The nightlife Embassy of Berlin in Moscow”. Inspired by the German minimalist techno scene, the design of this bar is reminiscent of the best techno spots of the Kreuzberg and Mitte neighbourhoods of Berlin. Good music and wonderful cocktails are offered daily. It’s a must visit if you like techno and house music. Plus, you likely won’t meet any tourists here.

Fahrenheit Moscow

Cafe, Contemporary

Some know this place as a dining spot in the Tverskoy District of Moscow. But, few know that there’s a huge bar behind the kitchen with excellent drinks made by local and international barstaff who have won many awards. It’s a must-visit if you’re really picky about your alcohol. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
