We’ve sourced stylish stays for bed and board in Portugal‘s Silver Coast town of Nazaré – from chilled-out hostels to sea-view hideaways steps from the sand, they’re all bookable on Culture Trip.

The name Nazaré is Portuguese for Nazareth – and the waves here reach biblical proportions. It’s no surprise that the resort is a hotspot for surfers, who flock to its sweep of golden sand to ride the huge breakers. There’s a lively summer beach scene here, plus a quaint old town packed with bars and restaurants. Naturally, there’s no shortage of hotels in Nazaré, but we’ve picked out the best for you.

With its laid-back youthful vibe and decor inspired by local beach huts, Nazaré Hostel is one of the top spots to stay on a budget. It sits on a hillside on the northern edge of town, though still just a short stroll from the beach and a five-minute walk to bars and restaurants. You can choose from doubles, family rooms and mixed dorms, with sea views from upper-floor balconies. A shared kitchen and dining room also mean you can save on eating out.

You can pick from a wide range of accommodation, from glamped up stilted bungalows and modern apartments to simply pitching your own tent. There’s loads of fun stuff, too, including a waterpark with slides, kids’ clubs and activities from horse riding to mountain biking. A glass-walled spa revives limbs after a day in the saddle.
