Columbus

The Columbus restaurant is located on Wały Chrobrego, Szczecin’s beautiful embankment of the Oder river. It has been built solely out of wood in order to evoke the marine atmosphere of the city. In fact, its decorations constitute one of the biggest marine collections in Szczecin. Columbus has two floors as well as a big garden, from where you can admire the Oder and the National Museum of Szczecin. The varied menu encompasses crisp seafood selection, a tuna steak served with tomato sauce, and the borsch soup with dumplings stuffed with deer meat.

The Polish tavern Pod Kogutem is a traditional Polish restaurant with a touch of history and charm, (such as straw and stuffed animal decorations in its dining rooms). It is located between Szczecin’s main park and the city center. The menu offers a variety of national dishes, the most interesting of which are: a wild boar roulade in red wine sauce stuffed with smoked bacon, onions, potato dumplings and beetroot; beef medallions in mustard and honey sauce served with vegetables; or grilled salmon with herb butter and vegetables.

Ładoga

Ładoga is a unique and beautiful restaurant located on a ship that floats on the Oder river. This restaurant offers the finest Russian cuisine in the city, accompanied by traditional Russian music and decorations. The two most spacious cabins of the ship serve as a restaurant and a more casual tavern, whilst the other cabins are nowadays parts of the hotel. Even though the ship does not move anymore, when you sit by the window you could well be on a nautical journey. The menu includes the famous Russian dumplings pielmieni or a duck baked with apples and served with red cabbage and Silesian dumplings. You should also try the Russian beverage kvass, famous across the world.

Chrobry

The Chrobry tavern is located in the historic building the Northern Rotunda at the Wały Chrobrego embankment. It is the oldest still functioning tavern in Szczecin. The tavern has three underground floors and a total of 300 tables. This most popular tavern in the town often entertains its clients with classical and live jazz music. The menu offers a selection of Polish beer, various cocktails and other beverages as well as side dishes.

Bombay

India goes to Poland

Szczecin’s finest Indian restaurant, Bombay is a multiple award-winner. The chef, Anna Agnihorti, prepares the dishes using the Indian clay oven tandoor, inspired by both her family’s traditional recipes from Punjab and India’s varied culinary history. The menu includes various grilled, meat and vegetarian dishes, such as chicken tikka, tandoori, tikka masala, homemade cheese cubes with green peas sauce, or freshly roasted eggplant with tomatoes, onion and green peas. Do also try the traditional Punjabi dish, Channa Bhathura: curried chickpeas served with fried bread and a yogurt salad.

Popularna

Smoked Salmon Toast

The cafe and restaurant Popularna is located in the proximity of Szczecin’s Pomeranian Ducal Castle, close to both the city center and the sites of the cathedral, the old Town Hall with the Historical Museum of Szczecin. Its menu includes homemade pouches and dumplings, a selection of Italian tagliatelle pasta as well as salads, and salmon or meat main courses.
