This award-winning, five-star design hotel stands inside a former monastery, in the heart of Maastricht’s historic centre, which dates back to the 15th century. Although the monastery has been renovated to meet modern demands, it still features many of its original elements, including exposed stone walls and arched passageways. There are 60 individually designed guest rooms inside Kruisherenhotel that are spread between the building’s cloister, gatekeeper’s lodge and another more contemporary site called Casa Nova. Aside from its stunning rooms, the hotel also features a high-end restaurant that’s housed inside the nave of a gothic church.
