Teds All Day Brunch

This aptly titled restaurant on Lucht Gaard serves brunch staples throughout the day and keeps its kitchen rolling until the late afternoon meaning that it is possible to chow down on gourmet fry ups well after regular service hours. Besides classic fare like eggs Benedict and French toast the restaurant’s menu also includes several lesser known breakfast masterpieces such as the fish finger club sandwiches and cob salad.

Anne&Max

Anne&Max’s menu mainly revolves around healthy, organic meals or snacks which pair wonderfully with the restaurant’s fresh juices, smoothies and coffees. Their salad section is particularly appetising and includes some real gems such as salmon poké bowls and a roasted vegetable with goats cheese mélange.

De Keuken van Thijs

This cosy lunchroom was founded in 2012 by a local culinary entrepreneur called Thijs Rullen and has since become one of the most popular midday hangouts in Utrecht. Thijs still works at the kitchen and continues to prepare a wide range of delicious, organic sandwiches and other tasty meals alongside his team.

Rabarber

Rabarber serves a polished selection of vegetarian, vegan and carnivorous brunch meals. The menu features several classic dishes such as croque monsieur or gado gado that have been slightly adapted and refined into mouth watering house specials. The restaurant itself is ridiculously charming and resembles an old-school tearoom complete with vintage furniture.

GYS

GYS exclusively makes organic meals and offers a superb selection of uncomplicated, yet hearty dishes that cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Whilst the restaurant has a modest breakfast menu that feature homemade pancakes, egg platters and salmon on toast, it’s worth straying onto their afternoon carte in order to sample their main courses which include several downright awesome in-house creations such as sweet potato burgers and mixed meat or veggie platters that are tailored to compliment beer.

De Ontdekking

As de Ontdekking is housed inside a former travel agency the restaurants interior’s is designed to purvey a sense of adventure. Their breakfast menu includes several travel-themed dishes which centre around scrambled eggs, bread and fresh fruit.

NOEN

Fried eggs for brunch

This down-to-earth hangout mainly serves traditional Dutch breakfast and lunch fare such as open-faced sandwiches, toasties and fried eggs. NOEN also has some of the best coffee in the entire city as well as a wide selection of organic tea.
