There are some seriously awesome membership services available in Amsterdam that make accessing the city’s many cultural highlights considerably easier. These membership plans include two cards that allow holders to attend gigs, concerts and art performances at popular venues throughout the city and another pass which makes almost every museum in the Netherlands free to enter.

Museumkaart

This yearly subscription service allows pass holders to access over 400 museums in the Netherlands without any additional fees. These museums include all of Amsterdam’s most iconic cultural institutions such as the Rijksmuseum, van Goghmuseum and Stedelijk as well as many other galleries, religious buildings and landmarks around the city. While signing up for an entire year might seem daunting, Museumkaart’s are actually pretty inexpensive and only set holders back €60 per annum.

Like almost every other museum in Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum accepts Museumkaarts

WeArePublic

WeArePublic works together with many cultural venues around the Netherlands and curates an extensive range of events every month for their members. A subscription with WeArePublic only costs €15 per month and allows members to attend an impressive range of events, concerts and exhibitions that cover a wide array of mediums and genres.

CineVille

A CineVille card costs €19 per month and allows cinephiles to access pretty much every arthouse cinema in the Netherlands without paying for tickets. It is worth mentioning that these theatres generally screen independent or left field films rather than big-budget blockbusters, but nonetheless always show an impressive number of movies throughout the month. CineVille’s website also provides information and tips about current movies playing in Amsterdam.

Watching movies at cinemas like the EYE becomes much easier (and cheaper) with a CineVille card

SubbaCultcha

A SubbaCultcha membership allows subscribers to attend around six gigs every month and access other special events in Amsterdam such as magazine release parties, small festivals and film nights. SubbaCultcha also publishes an alternative music magazine every quarter which is sent directly to members’ homes.

CJP (Cultureel Jongeren Paspoort)

CJP cards are available to anyone under thirty years old and allows younger people to buy tickets and products at discounted rates. The card costs €15 annually and is recognised at dozens of spots around the Netherlands including many cultural venues in Amsterdam like the Rijksmuseum, DeLaMar Theater and Stedelijk.

I Amsterdam City Pass

I Amsterdam City Passes are specifically tailored around visitors to the city and available for several different time limits that range from 24 to 98 hours. The cards are pretty much perfect for short stays as they give holders access to almost every major attraction in Amsterdam and also act as unlimited travel passes for the city’s public transport system.
