There’s good news in store for anyone dreading the repercussions of a long drinking session in Amsterdam, as a new pop-up bar has recently appeared that is specifically designed to cure all the pains and hardships of even the worst of hangovers.
The concept behind Hangover Bar is cunningly simple and revolves around the prevalent millennial adage ‘Netflix and Chill.’ This guiding principle has been honed into perfection and the establishment offers everything necessary for a drawn out session hidden beneath a fluffy duvet.

Before arriving, guests can choose between one of the bar’s luxurious beds and then book a spot online. At Hangover Bar’s entrance, a steward administers a breathalyzer test to ensure that each guest’s blood alcohol content is well above functional levels and then guides them to their chosen bunk. There, they can roll up into a blanket cocoon and relax while watching a huge selection of on-demand movies.

Hangover Bar’s lounge is covered in luscious, potted plants that form a soothing green sanctuary. This indoor oasis features several elegant fountains that provide fresh water for dehydrated guests.
Besides these amenities, the lounge also contains a high-tech oxygen bar that can help rejuvenate jittery clients’ core processes and set their minds at ease. Other essential nutrients can be replenished by picking up a fresh juice or smoothie from Hangover Bar’s well-stocked fridges, or by ordering a take-out meal from Foodora.

Hangover Bar clearly knows its audience and has created the comfiest cure to alcohol-related maladies to date. Its first run took place over four consecutive weekends in September and successfully attracted scores of weary-eyed Amsterdammers. Currently, its creators, Matt Sleeps (an Amsterdam-based startup that makes astoundingly comfortable mattresses) are looking to expand the scope of their enterprise and expect to launch another pop-up event in the near future.
Hangover Bar is open Friday to Sunday, between 10AM and 6PM. Go to their website for reservation details.
