Shaukiwan is a restaurant with over twenty years’ experience of serving fresh food in a warmly welcoming, oriental atmosphere. There is a great selection of Chinese starters including fried wontons and dumplings either steamed or fried, and speciality mains such as butterfly prawns with sweet and sour sauce, or half duck with pineapple or orange sauce. There is also a number of set menus and an all you can eat buffet.

There is also an outdoor terrace for al fresco dining with atmospheric lanterns and oriental statues. It has a central location in St. Julian’s making it popular with locals and visitors, so it’s best to dine early or late to get the best seats in this popular restaurant.

The interior of the Peking Restaurant is chic and stylish, mixing black and browns with comfortable red chairs. An intricate tiled Paisley pattern covers one wall and there are Asian-inspired art pieces on many of the walls. There is a glass pond, a water fountain and an aquarium to create a truly authentic oriental atmosphere. This family run restaurant has been open for 30 years and has been under Stivala family management for 15 years.

A Maltese-Chinese family run business, Little Wok is one of the longest established Chinese restaurants in Malta. Perfect for every occasion from casual dining to special events, the husband and wife chef team have over 30 years experience serving high quality Chinese fare. One of their speciality dishes, duck with pancakes, is a famous dish from Beijing and is cooked at Little Wok in the traditional manner. Using only seasonal ingredients, visitors are sure to enjoy their experience here. With over 125 dishes to choose from, everyone is sure to find their favorite dish at Little Wok.

Nan Yuan

Located on the Valletta waterfront in one of the incredible 250 year old vaults built by Grand Master Pinto, dining at Nan Yuan is an amazing experience. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating by the water’s edge, Nan Yuan provides the perfect blend of detailed, oriental atmosphere in the midst of Maltese history. Nan Yuan sells a selection of soups, seafood, meat, poultry and hot pot dishes as well as a selection of Chinese teas.

TemptAsian Rooftop Restaurant

A rooftop restaurant atop The Palace Hotel in Sliema on the ninth floor, TemptAsian provides incredible panoramic views across Sliema and Valletta’s Harbour. The food is a fusion of Asian and western flavours and there is a great amount of variety. From Malaysian Laksa Lemak (spicy clam, prawn, aubergine, spring onion and bean sprouts, with coconut milk, green leaves and almond flakes), to Peking duck. TemptAsian Restaurant is fantastic value for money, given the location and the class of the restaurant.
