Vilnius, the political and cultural capital of Lithuania, is a colourful cosmopolitan city where visitors can find it all: culture, art, history, nature and a large variety of great bars and restaurants that offer both Lithuanian and various foreign cuisines. Here are the city’s best pizza spots.

Užupio Picerija

Pizzeria, Italian

This pizza restaurant, considered by many to make the best pizza in Vilnius, is located in a beautiful building and within a very desirable location in the bohemian quarter of Vilnius, which claims to be an autonomous republic – Užupis. The most unique thing about the venue are the glass walls, which are great for those who feel like people-watching. The pizzas are made in true Italian style by an Italian chef, and come with a thin crust, while there’s a huge variety of toppings on the menu.

Don Simon Picos Namai

Pizzeria, Italian

Don Simon is situated in one of the oldest and greenest areas of Vilnius, Žvėrynas, which certainly adds a little something to the place. The joint offers a variety of delicious Italian pizzas in a bright and airy, modern environment. Every day the chefs serve a different soup, which comes with roasted ciabatta bread slices. Don Simon is a lovely place to have brunch or lunch on the weekend.

Visa Pica

Pizzeria, Italian

This pizzeria with only 10 seats is a unique place away from the city centre, but easily reachable by bus. It is easy to spot due to one unique detail – a yellow school bus parked outside that also serves as part of the restaurant. Due to the limited space and a huge amount of regular patrons, it can be tricky to get a meal here, but it is worth the wait. The pizza is made in a firewood furnace that helps to get a paper-thin crust, while only high-quality ingredients are used for the toppings.

Jurgis ir Drakonas (Ogmios)

Pizzeria, Italian

The chefs at this funky and modern pizza restaurant, called George and the Dragon in Lithuanian, take their inspiration directly from Naples – the original home of pizza. The pizza is baked in a wooden stove on an open fire just like it’s done in Italy, and the ingredients, mostly brought from Italy, are always fresh and of the best quality. As well as its branch in the Ogmios shopping mall, the restaurant has locations on Pylimo, Pilies and Ozo streets.
