Eating in Naples is truly a cultural expedition. Located on the Amalfi Coast, where the ocean is rich in octopus, cuttlefish, squid, clams and mussels, these rich seafood options make up much of the region’s cuisine. Here’s our list of the restaurants in Naples that have received a star from the Michelin Guide and are not to be missed.

Palazzo Petrucci

This restaurant can be found in Piazza San Domenico, one of the most scenic squares of Naples. It is housed in a chic and elegant 16th-century building. This is the place for a classy dinner. A few signature dishes include shrimp in pea sauce, lasagna with buffalo mozzarella from Campania; ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese, tomato, basil and pecorino cheese; and pastiera cake.

L’Accanto

Don Alfonso

This family run restaurant is the best in the south and located along the Bay of Naples. The ingredients are all homegrown, taken from the restaurant‘s orchards, vineyards and vegetable patches. The family operates with a philosophy of turning local meals into haute cuisine in order to provide you with the best combinations of genuine and authentic home cooking, enjoyed in a homely and relaxing atmosphere.

Taverna del Capitano

This restaurant is a third generation family restaurant, and is well-known among the community. It is strategically placed between Sorrento and Positano along the coast. The first generation of the family used the building as a grocery store, though eventually it was turned into an inn with a restaurant run by Chef Alfonso who has gained two Michelin stars. The cellar, run by his sister, has won the title of ” Italian Best Wine Cellar of the Year” in 2000 and 2003. The dishes are a mix of local flavors and imagination.

Quattro Passi

This restaurant confirms that Marina del Cantone is a culinary paradise with this Michelin star restaurant, run by husband and wife team Rita and Tonino. They craftily combine class, modern dining and premium quality ingredients to achieve their triumphant Quattro Passi. Their house specialty is seafood, and signature dishes include monkfish ravioli and risotto with large shrimp and broom flowers, pezzogna fish parcels with curly escarole salad and pine nuts, and scampi.
