Neukölln is the vibrantly diverse twelfth borough of Berlin. The lively neighbourhood is brimming with culture, art and a mix of the old and new. An area full of contrasts, it’s also home to some of Berlin’s best bars. We’ve compiled a list of the not-to-be-missed watering holes in Neukölln.

This not-so-secret hidden bar is located on the roof of shopping mall Neukölln Arcarden, offering amazing city views and one of Berlin’s coolest chill spots. Klunkerkranich lets visitors have a beer amongst its quirky, up-cycled décor and furniture and plants while watching the sunset over the city. They also host live concerts and bring in some of Berlin’s best DJs, offering a diverse calendar of entertaining events.

2. Prachtwerk

Bar, Cafe, European

Prachtwerk is a hybrid café-bar-music venue that offers an atmospheric space to unwind, meet some friends and listen to some stellar tunes. The crafty-meets-industrial design and high white walls are often enlivened with art from their monthly exhibitions, and during the day a laid-back café vibe can be felt. At night, the place transforms into a bar and music venue that isn’t too wild, but a great starting point for an evening out.

3. Das Gift

Bar, Pub, Soul Food

Offering a large selection of Scottish malt whisky, small-batch gin and ales, this convivial haunt has a jukebox filled with mixes by friends of the bar, including Robert Smith and Caribou. Also offering a range of events, including art exhibitions and a Monday pub quiz, Das Gift lends a unique pub charm to Neukölln bar scene.

4. Vin Aqua Vin

Vin Aqua Vin is a well-stocked wine bar with locations in Hamburg and Berlin. Its location in Berlin is a casual cosy spot, perfectly located on the trendy Neukölln street, Weserstraße. Exposed brick, small wooden tables and mismatched furniture make up its aesthetic, and the bar is often packed on the weekend with Neukölln‘s trendy crowd.
