Each year in the summer, Berlin’s Botanic Gardens and Museum opens its doors for a special weekend event. The Botanical Night hosts a romantic evening in the gardens where visitors can wander the various of flowers and plants in a completely new light.

Visitors explore the Garden by a special, illuminated path

During the Botanical Night, visitors can explore the gardens by walking around a curated path. Stretching 16 kilometres (10 miles) long, the path takes people on a journey through flower beds, plants and several themed gardens.

The setting is mythical and magical

Hidden among the flowers are various mysterious folklore creatures and characters to delight visitors. These special additions to the garden create a magical and romantic atmosphere for lovers to stroll through.

You can follow a guide

Visitors are welcome to wander the gardens at their own pace. However, for flora-enthusiasts, there are guided tours that highlight and cover specific species and botanical topics.

There is also a variety of entertainment

Aside from exploring the garden’s botanic delights, visitors are also treated to a variety of cultural and musical entertainment. The rich program of 160 different artists includes bands, cabaret, theatre, dance performances, circus-like shows, as well as tasty food delicacies and ample drinks.

The night has been running for 10 years

Botanical Night has been delighting Berliners and visitors alike for a decade now. The annual event is often centered around a theme—this year’s event was celebrated under the title ‘The Light of Nature’, lasted two days and welcomed thousands of guests into its enchanting night.

It is concluded with a firework display

The fanciful and wild night starts at 5 pm, with the programme kick-off half an hour later and lasts until 2 am when it’s concluded with a large, romantic firework display above the Italian garden, which lights up the sky in an array of colours and patterns.
