Georgia is booming with resorts and hotels offering luxurious and relaxing stay over the weekend. While there are plenty of accommodation options to choose from, some of them are far from the capital. This post will help you plan your perfect weekend near Tbilisi.
This hotel in Gori is a nice place to have your weekend getaway from Tbilisi. The city, located a one-hour-thirty-minute drive away, boasts plenty of interesting things for you to do. While staying at Royal House, you’ll get a comfortable, classic-style room with a TV, wardrobe and all the necessary items you’ll ever need. Every room here has a balcony; some even have views over the mountains.
Even though Gudauri is primarily a ski resort, people still go there for a weekend throughout the year. Gudauri Inn, located very close to the first lift of the slopes, offers comfortable accommodation with a flat-screen TV, toiletries and all the necessities like slippers and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms have a balcony for you to enjoy beautiful views of Caucasus Mountains.
Marco Polo Hotel Gudauri is another great place for your relaxing weekend. Boasting spa facilities, fitness center, and an indoor pool, you’ll definitely enjoy your stay here. The rooms here have neutral colors and are equipped with minibar, work desk, toiletries and a bathrobe to name a few. The restaurant offers Caucasian and European specialties. And to make your weekend even more fun, there’s a small bowling room too.
Located in Vardzia, the resort is for those who would love to add a small educational tour to their relaxing weekend. With a 24-hour front desk, lounge area and a beautiful courtyard, you’ll enjoy your time here. It’s a great place for the families with children as its garden has a special playground. Additionally, you can hire a bike and go cycling to explore the neighborhood.
If you are looking to unwind for two days, Royal Batoni located in Kvareli is the perfect place for you. Located near Ilia Lake, you can take a walk or cycle around it, enjoy an outdoor pool or spend the weekend at its terrace reading a book to learn more about Georgia.
Ambassadori Kachreti Golf Resort is the only golf hotel in the country. Each room here includes a classic-style interior and a minibar, as well as all the necessary items for your pleasant stay. The restaurant decorated with wooden beams and stone accents offers Georgian cuisine, while you can enjoy local wines and other refreshments at the bar. For your relaxation, there’s an outdoor swimming pool, a table tennis, and a tennis court besides the golfing area.
Lopota Lake Resort and Spa is for those who want to have a getaway from the capital and still enjoy different activities on the site. The resort, located in the Kakheti region in the eastern part of Georgia, is beautiful. Time stands still here as you relish in breathtaking views of the mountains that surround the lake. The retreat has several outdoor pools for you to sunbathe during hot summer days, or you can enjoy the forest spa, detox and try out a Russian sauna.
Ever heard of a wine spa? Kvareli Eden is the one you need to head to if you’d like to try it out yourself. Located 135 kilometers (84 miles) away from Tbilisi, in the Kakheti region, the resort has a peaceful environment, just like Lopota. Oak trees, vineyards, and orchards surround the resort. The spa and whole complex is built around the theme of wine-making and viticulture. The spa here is the only one of its kind in Georgia and Caucasus. So head to Georgia to give it a try yourself.

We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
