The Best Bars In St Tropez, France

St Tropez‘ reputation precedes it: glamorous parties, celebrities and super sized yachts are what first come to mind. But when it comes to bars, there is definitely something for everyone. Here are some of the best bars in the French city.

Maison Blanche Champagne Bar

Just off le Place des Lices, in the heart of the Maison Blanche Hotel you can find this small, sophisticated champagne bar. As you can tell from the name, they only serve champagne here, either by the glass or by the bottle, and all of it of the best quality. It even has a limited number of Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection 1921 bottles as part of its luxurious collection. This is a great spot for pre-dinner drinks, where you can sit back and relax in the serene, white-washed courtyard next to the beautiful 18th-century fountain.

Bar du Port

Bar du Port, sitting just by the port, is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, an aperitif or late evening drinks. As the day wears on, the atmosphere transforms from quaint seaside cafe to happening bar with a party atmosphere. When night draws in, a DJ picks up, forming the soundtrack for the evening and carrying on well into the night. Bar du Port is perfect for all ages, and not excessively expensive either.

The VIP Room

As you can probably guess from the name, the VIP Room is a very exclusive bar, particularly favored among celebrities. For those who enjoy rubbing shoulders with celebs, dressing up, and the flavor of exclusivity, this is the place for you. Playing mostly house and techno music, the VIP Room is spread over two floors. It has a dance space upstairs, perfect for dancing the night away.

Kelly’s Pub

If the glitz and glam of summer in St Tropez is getting too much for you, then why not take a look in Kelly’s Pub? This is an Irish bar where casual clothing isn’t frowned upon – in fact, flip flops are preferred. There’s Guinness on tap, the drinks are very reasonably priced (especially for San Tropez) and there’s a great view over the port from their terrace. So, drop by and enjoy a pint with the locals.

Ice Kube Bar

If you fancy something a little different to the classic St Tropez beach scene, then why not check out the Ice Kube Bar, set beneath the Kube Hotel? This place oozes cool, with ice sculptures and multi-colored LEDs lighting up the ice, creating a magical yet happening ambience. Upon arrival you are given a Parka to keep out the sub-zero temperatures, and during your visit you will receive four vodka-based cocktails of your choice. This place picks up between 11 and 1, but make sure you book in advance as it’s very popular.

Papagayo

One of the largest celebrity haunts in St Tropez, Papagayo also plays host to regular catwalks and shows. This place is located right on the harbor, therefore making it the perfect spot for sunset drinks. Make sure to book a table in advance as Papagayo is extremely popular, and for good reason. It is a lively, cool and upmarket bar, and well worth a visit.

Café de Paris

If you’re after the glamour of St Tropez without the excessive price tag, try Cafe de Paris. Situated right on the waterfront, this place gives you the option of sitting with the fantastic view over the port or in the glamorous interior of the bar. Food is served throughout the day before the venue transforms into a trendy bar in the evening. This makes it the perfect place to stop by for a drink or a quick bite to eat.

Tsar Folie’s

The epitome of St Tropez in summertime, Tsar Folie’s is always brimming with crowds of excitable youth, who are drinking, socializing and having a great time. As soon as you step in the door you are greeted by the party atmosphere that this place exudes, thanks to the music played by the in house DJ and the fun and friendly attitude of the staff. Their new terrace now means that you can party both inside and out, but if you want a table make sure you book in advance.

Brasserie des Arts

Brasserie des Arts is the perfect place to spend those chilled summer evenings. Enjoy the sunset on their terrace, accompanied by one of their original cocktails and the mellow background music. Brasserie des Arts is chic, glamorous and the perfect break from the non-stop party of St Tropez in the summertime.
